Default Pad Keeper - David Etter "Thanks!"

Just wanted to say thanks to David Etter for supplying me a 993 Pad Keeper he engineered. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a "before picture" and only have a after picture. Like most the Pad is sagging all over the engine due to 20+ years of engine heat.

All I can say is it took me about 20 easy minutes to install and used a screw driver to tighten each tab he supplied by pushing on the ridges on the tab to screw it tighter. What a clean look!

Another Rennlist link to the PAD Keeper detail write-up.

Did you put the 993 sticker on the pad keeper or does it come with it now?

David included the sticker with the purchase. Nice touch! I like it!

Huzzah!
I second a big "Thanks" to David for a superb product and excellent step-by-step install instructions. I emailed David on Day 0 and by Day 3 my pad keeper had arrived, then 20 short minutes later it was installed!! Now begins the real elbow grease task of detailing the rest of the compartment.
Thanks again David!

Lol, I tore the crap outta the backs of my hands installing that bugger on a Varioram car. Not much working real estate between the pad and top of the V-ram, in the ICV location...

Yeah ninesix ... I got the caps started on the threads first, then took a screwdriver and pushed on the raised notches on the cap itself so it turned to tighten them. Worked pretty good. Agreed it's tight as hell in there with the Varioram!! Make sure you use a sheet to cover the engine so the caps don't fall "straight down into the engine."

I've been looking at this thing for a while. And can't bring myself to spend more than $100 on a piece of plastic. It's a very nice piece of plastic. It's also very useful. But I got two much more useful pieces of plastic that hold my door pockets together for $10 here on Rennlist.

I understand business a little, appreciate supply and demand and commend David's excellent customer service. It's just a bit beyond my interest to solve this type of problem at this price range. Is there more to this plastic piece that I'm not seeing? So, if I ever decide to do this fix, I'll do it with a piece of aluminum. Maybe paint it. And there's also this: http://www.autohausaz.com/pn/99355628100 Which is much cheaper, too, and might fix the issue, but might be harder to install with engine in.

I just purchased one as well. And had the same experience with David: super easy to deal with, friendly, and remarkably fast (even shipped to Canada)!

+1 on all the positives plus using a sheet and using leverage. I like the addition of the decal Are they available after purchase?

Must be the slightly suggestive combination of words "fister" and "cats" in the signature. I see no other conceivable reason...

I'd just like to thank both David, and Gbos1. Without their insanely, immense contributions to this community, we would be with "one less" opportunity to revel in "The Avatar". :-)
Unfortunately, I had already "rigged" my falling pad, prior to the "Keeper" being available. Otherwise it'd be a done deal. Take care
