Interesting Hand Written Number Behind Bumper
Just curious if anyone knows the meaning of the hand written number that is on the chassis behind the bumper cover? It corresponds with a matching stamped version on the inner door frames as well. I couldn't find any info pertaining to it by searching online. I assume it was part of the assembly line process but thought I would share in case someone might know for sure.

Bumper may have been off once. May be job shop number. Doesn't look like a factory marking. Serifed "2" and cross through the 7 is a European writing style of my father's generation probably written by someone over age 80 today.

Also to clarify, this is written on the chassis behind the bumper, not on the bumper.

No, the number matches a machine stamped number on the inside of the door frames. I talked to my brother who works for BMW and he said they do something similar on new cars before they are assigned a vin. BMW hand writes theirs under the roundel.

Sounds like the blood pressure reading of the line assembler back then. Both systolic and diastolic BP are way to low. Most likely deceased shortly after...

Do the first two digits add up to be the digit missing in sequence between the third and fourth digits? If so, this is a major find and make sure you don't miss the next episode of The Curse of Oak Island.
