Does the phone stay put while driving?
I haven't had a spirited drive yet, but the magnet seems strong and firmly planted. I'm pretty confident it'll stay put for anything short of a track day.

As some may have noticed on the site, the original Rennline Cell Phone Holder is not available anymore. Rennline is changing the design to be a fully machined aluminum piece, and should be available in a few weeks.

Which means cost goes up, and my guess is the old Pcar mount won't look so bad after all.

I believe the "old" mount was $49 so lets see but you could be right.

I like the idea and simplicity of that idea, but I went with a Techart variant that looks very similar to the Kuda phone mount for the 993 (I like the Kuda style so much that I bought one of them for my Cayenne too). It's great, doesn't obscure any gages or the radio and is far enough out of sight that the light from my phone doesn't bother me when driving at night.
Additionally, on the subject of magnets, I still use my 3 year old Nexus 5 because it has the magnets built inside the body of the phone and the Nexus 5 wireless charger holds the phone in place and charges at the same time.
This mod is only second to the ignition key light in terms of everyday usability of my 993.

Just had this one custom made for a 993 on a 3-D printer. The mount slides into the ashtray, and the holder is made to fit the dimensions of my Mophie external battery case on my iPhone 5.

Cost me under $60 and it works like a charm.

They have reappeared today, but at double the original price.

Now $75. What's the story?

Best,

Gee, it can't be because their design is VERY similar to Bill's original Pcar Mount.
