Just did this myself, used these 12-point (triple-square) allen bits
You also need a 24mm wrench (or adjustable) and a 5mm allen bit

The 5mm allen is for removing the inner (fan) belt discs. The M10 12-point and 24mm wrench take off the outer (alternator) belt discs.
Technically you also need a 13mm (I believe) socket and open ended wrench to take off the A/C belt.

It is not. It's a triple square. Comes with the factory tool kit, or is available elsewhere. I bought two from Amazon, one was too long and the other didn't fit nearly as well as the one I discovered in my toolkit after wasting time with the others. Maybe go with a higher-end brand if you need to buy one, or buy the factory tool.

I strongly recommend you use this $10 triple square socket along with a 3/8 breaker bar. In fact, I bought a spare and keep it in the factory tool kit. It makes counter holding the alternator shaft a breeze and provides plenty of leverage.

I am trying to replace my alternator The M10 24 tool (Capri) I bought does not seem to fit into the end of the shaft more than 2 mm and won't hold when I torque it. I this tool garbage or just wrong?
