When it rains it pours. Quite a number of nice 993's available on our classifieds. Nice options and very fair prices. Wish I was in the market.

The only one that really sold in a decent amount of time had a rebuild with some nice goodies, looked great and in the mid 30's.

I don't think any 993 unless it's super low miles is going to sell for 5x,xxx. Prices are well down, the market is super soft and great news for buyers!

The market may not be as white hot as it was months ago, but I'd say it's far from super soft, IMHO

Same thing happened last year at this time, some great deals. Spring time prices always go up again.

If it is the same one I think you are referring to (axl911's car), he had it advertised at $39,500

Do you have any inside information that he dropped it to mid 30's?

Sold pretty fast so I wouldn't think he had time to even consider dropping his price, even though it was a 174k mile car.

I do agree that it is a very nice car.

You're right! I should say, 'high 30s' (I thought the price was 36K), great car, nice deal. We'll see if any of the 60K 993's sell (probably not, they look overpriced) and the 5xK might sell but not likely until spring/summer.

Someone needs to track the 993's that are listed here and on Pelican and see if they sell or not and how long it takes aggregate.

I bought that car for full asking FWIW. Would have been great to have gotten it for cheaper but I believe it was a fair price. The number of people calling and texting him the entire time (even during our time at the bank when the sale was finalized) seems to indicate it's a little stronger than "super-soft"

Looks like a great car, congratulations, nice to be able to find one semi-local.

Thanks. That was definitely fortunate. Great seller too. I've already put ~500 miles and it does seem to be a great car. There are a few small things that I'm addressing but the major mechanical bits are in good working order.

When I purchased my 96 C2 Coupe 5 years ago the same thing was happening, the guys phone must of rang 8 or 9 times in the first 30 minutes when I was going over the car, it kind of killed my negotiating leverage lol.

I think in the near future the 993 will be a 6 figure car as the "last or the air cooled" legend grows. The economy sucks right now and the value went up..wait until it comes back for a few years or a decade.

Someone should routinely ask (maybe once a month, or maybe every two weeks) the owners of every single 993 worldwide how much they would sell their car for AT THAT MOMENT. Then maybe we can have a statistician (there must be one on RL) collate the data and make up some charts/graphs/powerpoint presentations to help owners decide whether they made the right decision to buy one or not (and also whether or not to drive them).

Who's with me?

^If you can somehow get that data from even 1% of 993 owners worldwide, i'll volunteer to crunch and present the data.
