I must be crazy...putting my 993 up for sale
I haven't driven it much in the past 3 years. Not sure if I am gonna regret this...

Market has already been adjusted, very few 993's are selling and not for the crazy money they were last year. I've seen 2 sold here and they were sub $35K cars. Good reason to keep them forever!

I recently bought a 993 for a little over 40k, so they are still selling. I was more attracted to the higher mileage, lower cost examples (in the low 40's, high 30's) as I felt I could get more bang for my buck and feel comfortable that any well maintained 993 will last a very long time!
This example would have been very attractive to me as well, GLWS!

In my experience, it's typically hard to sell your car on a forum dedicated to your car. Most people frequenting the forum already have one. Sure, there's some wealthy gents on here looking to buy up more than one car I'm sure, but over the 20 or so used cars I've sold in the last 15 or so years, I don't think I've ever sold one to a forum member. Always Autotrader or Craigslist.
Therefore, I'd look more at the pricing thread than at our classifieds.

The car I purchased was found on this forum in the classified section. I came here first since I felt I could find an enthusiast owned car that I could trust. I didn't want to use eBay or a dealer if I could avoid it. I did look on craigslist, but this forum was a much better source.
Pichu, I was interested in your car but a few things held me back. You were very honest in your listing, which I really appreciated, but there were a number of issues that I would have needed to address after purchase. Nothing that was a big deal, since the lower price covered it, but I preferred pay a little more for one that already had known issues taken care of.
I hate to say it but the extra hassle of importation made a difference too. All things being equal, that would have been enough to sway me. So I think you were in a special situation that drove the price down a bit. Take care of all the issues, get your car sparkling and I think you could get around 40k for it.
I don't consider myself an expert, but hopefully my perspective as a recent buyer is helpful.

I have a close relationship with two dealers who have told me that based on recent sales they see the turbo market softening at the same time the C2S market is strengthening. The cars involved were sub 15-mile examples. As I was not purchasing a car, I had no reason to believe the information was untruthful.
