GLWS OP - well sorted car.
As far as values softening - if indeed that is the case - some of that is likely attributed to seasonality. Coming into fall limits a lot of 4-season buyers. Spring should be interesting.

Even if the market "softens" further, it will rebound long-term. Every car is for sale at the right price. When I listed my car in the classifieds here, I asked myself how I would feel the days after I sold it and I'm glad I kept mine.

I wish I (a) had more money / less expenses, (b) had more garage space, and (c) had a more understanding wife (she said I can't have both GPW cars). I'd drive over to pick it up tomorrow and I'd even give you visitation rights too, lol. I already have ideas running through my head.

I have a close relationship with two dealers who have told me that based on recent sales they see the turbo market softening at the same time the C2S market is strengthening. The cars involved were sub 15-mile examples. As I was not purchasing a car, I had no reason to believe the information was untruthful.
However, the way I saw it...every freakin' car these days is a turbo, I wanted the purity of the air cooled normally aspirated motor for this car.

I am avoiding going into the garage now because every time I see the car can't get over how gorgeous the shape is with the RS bits and ducktail. Oh...and that vintage smell of the interior. I have been struggling with this decision for 2 solid years. But I just don't drive the car anymore and really need the space.

And Poof, she is gone. It was 10 years ago to the exact month I went to Austin TX to buy the car. Today, the new owner is taking her back home in Austin.
It was meant to be.

I'm just a lurker here as I'm preparing to buy my first 993 very soon and I have to say I fell in love with your car at first sight.... I was hoping it was going to last a bit longer for me to ****** it.....oh well, I'm sure the new owner will enjoy every bit of that car!!!!

I've had mine 12 years now, and I'm still enthralled by it. I still look back after I park it. The shape is poetry, Beyonce on a lounge. I still look forward to driving it, it is still a special experience. People still point it out to each other, and it still turns heads. When I go to club meetings, and see all the new Porsches, they just don't have that certain something that a 993 has. I've had people stalk me into the parking lot and ask about buying it.
At this point, it is an appreciating asset that I can enjoy using. Other than a house, what else does that? The market may sag a little, but it will stay strong long-term for nice 993s, IMHO.

I just bought my '97 C2 Tip a few months ago for around $40,000. I specifically wanted a Tip (all my other cars are sticks) so that made it cheaper and so did the narrow body which I also wanted. The lower mileage, mint condition, rare color, new tires and recent top end rebuild bumped the price up a bit. At the end of the day, I couldn't touch another one like it for under $45,000.
The top end rebuild was the key sale point for me. If you find a 993 with 50,000 or more miles that hasn't had a top end job you better plan on setting $10,000 aside after you buy the car, You're gonna need it.
