Default Rim refinishing thread

I've been searching hi and low for pictures of refinished rims and it seems it could be useful if we had a thread with recommendations in one thread.

So if you have had your Porsche rims refinished, and were happy with the result, please post a few pictures, the shop info and appx price paid, if you don't mind.

This is not a diy thread, but if you have refinished your own rims, feel free to post up a pic and list the products used.

Don't have a pic handy but I bought a set of used MY02's for $900. Had them powdercoated Porsche silver and tires mounted for $400.

Great idea for a thread - I'm looking for a place in SF to get my twists fixed up. Hope someone posts a good shop nearby.

I've seen refinished wheels that looked more gray than the original, and in my opinion, more desirable silver finish. Does anyone know if there's a different process to get the wheels to look like the original silver finish?

This is a great Idea. I am considering refinishing my cup 2's in Hypersilver and it would be interesting to see if anyone else has tried it.

I posted in other threads:
Wheel Collision Center in PA for refinish or wheel repair.

PO of my car had the wheels done there in dark grey, very good quality. He also did wheels on his 993tt.

I also had a cracked/bent rim repaired by them with great results.

Here are some examples of our work, most 1-pc. designs start at $150 and up for refinishing and this include minor repair work such as curb-rash.

We also have been refinishing brake calipers for almost 15-years....

Mr Cactus please consider to edit your post and ad a picture of your (beautiful I've seen pics, I know) finished wheel and if you get a chance to dig up the refinishers phone number would be great.

Everybody, the spirit of this thread was to be like a showcase to show both a sample and contact info for refinishers around the country.

Timely thread. I've been thinking about having my Speedlines refinished but I don't want to lose the 'Speedline for Porsche' engraving. I believe there was someone on here a few years ago who used to refinish and re-engrave the wheel but I'm not sure he's still around. Any recommendations for someone who could do this work, preferably in the SF Bay Area?

+993 for Wheel Dynamics. I have a set of MY02 wheels on my 993 that they did for me in 2012, and they still look like new. They install and balance the tires using Corghi Master and Hunter RoadForce equipment, the best there is. I went back two weeks ago for a new set of rear tires--same excellent service.

I refinished my cup II's in arctic silver metallic.

Mine too can appear gray depending on light.

In the attached photos were taken under bright light. and look silver but under different light they appear dark gray.

Arctic silver metallic is the original color that came with my car.

You're thinking of Jim Dorociak? He's your man, and on the left coast, I think

Jamie- great idea! Here are some pics of my Carrera IIIs from several years ago. Had them refinished at Ye Old Wheel Shop in Elkridge, MD (410-796-8400). They do great work, and paint match was spot-on. IIRC, it was near 150 each.
