Default My coral red 964

Well after my last 3 911's all being 993's I came across this 964 that was local to me. I wasn't even planning on getting another 911 after I sold my 993 last year but being only 5 minutes away needless to say I had to be somewhat interested. Long story short...I inquired about this car when I saw it in a local restaurant parking lot last year. The owner called me back in March of this year saying it was his car. We struck a deal (a very very good deal), and now its mine. It is a 1992 C2. 155k mies. Mark Nadler did the top end rebuild at 148k miles. It has a RS clutch, LWF, Steve Wong Chip, G pipe, cat delete. This car is way faster than any of my 993's, it also feels like it shifts better, more sporty if you will. Not sure if it was regeared, but I do know 2 previous owners ago did track it for some DE's. I have the original window sticker, and almost all of the records from day 1. The color is coral red metallic. From what I gather it is very rare. I feel very lucky to be able to find a late model 964 C2 Manual Coupe with a top end refresh and in a rare color, literally 5 minutes from me. I will own another 993 someday because I just love the rear end on a 993 especially the WB's, but for now I am content.

Yum - only thing I'd change would be to get some BBS 17s and use those lovely Cup 16s for winter tires.

And the different feel to the gearbox might be the G21 vs the G20 - which exact version 993s did you have?

I've driven a lot of 911 variants. There is nothing lacking about the way a 993 in proper shape, shifts.

Ed, I didn't say my 993's didn't shift nice. They all felt great. I just simply stated that this one feels different and a little more sporty. Could be that all of my 993's were c4's? I'm not sure if there is a noticeable difference between C2/C4 in shifting. Maybe my 964 is regeared or maybe it was modded with a golden rod type mod, but the shifting is definitely more precise than my 993's.

Have always loved the 964 ...the "tweener" 911 in my mind. Congrats and enjoy!

Could be the C4 aspect, as the two I've driven did feel "different". My C2 with RS mounts, and factory SS kit shifts as nice, and I'd say "sporty", as any Porsche I've driven. Maybe the GT3 and GT3RS I've driven were a bit "more" so....I was having too much fun to remember.

Splendid. If I could pick any 964 to have, it'd be Amazon Green like my original one: Or Coral.
Just very elegant, yet sporty. Enjoy!
