JoAnne--

Will do my best for you! That tour & photo-shoot occurred with little advance notice. Luckily you live closer than your RLer friend JPP: I called to invite him & his Speedster, but he declined due to short notice

That event was arguably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
...that I've had twice
Previous was when I led a Colorado Make-A-Wish Foundation program. The Thunderbirds requested to host a M-A-W family, & allowed RLers' cars on the flight-line: click the 944/968 Forum's "Together with a Few Friends for a Photo Op" thread.

Might be easier once you & Robert are back in a 993, or at least a Porsche...
Petrolicous' patriotic pics are a subset of a more recent event the Thunderbirds asked me to organize with the Porsche Club:

Your birthday request is delayed...
Partially off-topic, but on-target considering previous posts of planes, patriotism, & Memorial Day week, + that one of the town's photos on this thread was the location of a crash today:

Both the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels each lost a plane.

The Blues' loss was MUCH more significant.

"Pilot killed in US Navy Blue Angels jet crash in Tennessee"
"Jets from the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels crash on same day"
"Two separate crashes involve Blue Angels, Thunderbirds jets"
"Blue Angels jet, Thunderbird F-16 crash in separate incidents"
"Air Force jet crashes after flyover at Colorado Obama speech"

Godspeed, Marine.

What are the odds of tow crashes in the same day?

So sad......

PS: you are a little early for the B-day wishes, but thank you in advance.

The odds are not good. Not good at all. In a word: tragic.

Furthermore: each was their formation's Opposing Solo (jet #6).

Tragic is indeed the word. It's nearly inconceivable the two crashed on the same day, much less the same week or even year.

Godspeed to both pilots.

If I understood the news reports last night, the AF pilot was able to eject and got down OK.

He did and I wondered if low altitude eject as the plane came to rest in a field still largely intact. And may the lost Navy pilot RIP..
