Default Replacement Rotors for 993

RacingBrake is pleased to present its center mount design two piece rotors for 993/993TT/BBK in 3 sizes:

304x32mm (P/N: 2519) - 16" wheels
322x32mm (P/N: 2520) - 17" wheels
330x32mm (P/N: 2521) - 17" wheels

All three rotors share the same hat (P/N: H802-59), which is machined from high strength forged aluminum blank with rigidity and durability for the lasting performance you can expect.

Although other BBK are available but we understand some 993 owners prefer to keep their brake stock, and this is why we are offering these options.

These rotors are built for track duty, as an example, 322x32 is the similar size as our two piece stock replacement for EVO 8/9 (320x32) which we offered since early 2000 and it's still considered to be the most durable rotors in EVO community, supported by the fact that very few replacement rings were sold.

Web links to those items will be added in a few days.

why do the rotors rings offset where they assemble? i feel that would cause some headaches in machining added possibilities making flatness difficult.

This is RB's patented center mount design:

1. Same disc can be used for left and right (uni-directional)
2. Admits cool air from both inboard and outboard so the rotor can run cooler
3. More balanced brake stress than conventional surface mount design.
4. Track proven to be the most durable rotor in the performance industry*

More options with lighter rotors.

With the same hat, other than three sizes offered for 993, you can mount to following disc sizes that are machined from the same casting:

D300-03 318x30 (Lexus 400)
D300-04 322x30 (VW/Audi 17Z Cayenne Brake kit)
D300-05 318x28 (Boxster)
D300-06 315x32 (Ferrari 456 Front)
D300-07 310x28 (Ferrari 456 Rear)

With RB center mount feature, the rotor offset will not change regardless of disc thickness*. In other words you can assemble 322x30mm (VS 17Z kit) disc for a lighter weight rotor w/o requiring a new hat to compensate the thickness change like traditional surface mount design.

In fact, we offer "lighter" version two piece rotors (380x32 vs. OE's 380x34) for GTR for people who don't track their cars, so they don't have to drive around the street with heavy rotors.

Should be very similar to 996 Turbo (330x32) - In stock and shipping:

So initial cost is 1k. What is the cost for replacement rings? How often do you recommend replacing the hat?

Maths starting to get fuzzy... darn it...

Our replacement rings are listed under the item - Scroll to the middle of page.

http://www.racingbrake.com/ProductDe...de=D300-01-381

They are less than $400/pair - Including brand new hardware at no extra charge.

Please refer to the following link for the durability of RB rotors (hat and disc), unless you race harder than SCTS Racing Team (RB rotors last for two seasons), these rotors shall pretty much last as long as you own the car, provided proper related components (pad, caliper) are installed/used. RB hat is an item you will never have to replace.

You can rest be assured that RB doesn't charge Porsche Tax like others, you will be paying the same price as other car owners regardless it's Porsche, Ferrari, Audi or VW.

Our price is in general consistent as our brake quality - Across the board - from Acura to VW.

+1 Is 322 for big reds? From another thread it seemed you didn't have them for big reds but for S4/GTS only.
