This is something I did not think Porsche does. Porsche sells the entire foglight unit but normally does not sell the lenses separately.

I found an eBay link where a company in Germany is now selling the fog light lenses separately directly as a Hella part number ----

Now we could paint away our white-dull foglight interiors to silver and put on brand new lenses

I noticed that too and was surprised. It does open up options for refurbishing ones fogs!

It was my understanding the lenses aren't easily removed from housing...is that not the case?

A few years ago I bought a foglight with a broken housing and good glass to get the glass. I had to break the plastic housing apart to get the glass off. Then I carefully broke the glass off my foglight that had cracked glass. I put the good glass on with some glue that softens with heat. If I have to replace the glass again it should be much easier.

You just have to cut the glue out. It takes time and patience and finesse and a little bit of brute force to use a chisel or flathead screwdriver to lever the lens out of the housing's platic channel without screwing up the plastic or chipping the glass lens. Maybe 30- 45 min per foglight. You feel like hero once you get it done. I painted my foglight interiors and but the 50 k mile glass lenses back on. Looks great from 10 feet away but looks so-so from 1 foot away. The dullness of my old foglight glass stands in contrast w my nearly new headlight lenses.





I think I will get a pair of these and examine them.

I have no affiliation with this eBay seller --- I was just passing something on that I felt was interesting --- I went back and looked at the ebay link - where there used to be 10 sets available, there is now only one set left!

I finally unwrapped the package I got in early March but there seems to be a problem ---- see the pictures below. Did anyone else find this inconsistency as well? I will contact Sabine @ Daddy's Carparts ----

I'm a bit chagrined about this as I found this link, posted it, and ordered, only to discover 1.5 months later that what I got is not what I expected ----

To Daddy's car party's credit that got back to me within 30 min on their Sunday evening (this morn for me in Sf) and apologized ... They indicate that they will ship replacements on their Monday morning in Germany. I'll let folks know how I get on.
