Default 1997 993 ruf tribute should I buy

I have the opportunity to purchase a 97 with 69000 miles with many dealer installed ruf parts. Not sure how this would effect the overall collectibility and value over time. I'm having a ppi done today.
The car has some but not all service history and the dealer I'm buying from just had a major service done. Title is clean 3 owner I would be 4th.
Assumptions:

1. If the ppi checks out perfectly what do you think a fair price would be

2. I absolutely love the look but would hesitate if I knew the value would be compromised over time.

So that's it tell me what you think and ask questions. I'll answer the best I can. This would be my 2nd 993. I love them but not an uber geek about the vehicle but hope to be some day

I went by in the summer to have a look at it in person. They have had it for about 6 months so negotiate hard.

The car is not to my taste and finding another buyer one day will be tough. Even salvage title cars are going up so you won't lose your shirt.

If you like it just drive it and enjoy every minute

Well... I like the wheels.

Honestly, if you're looking for something that is going to retain its value, I don't think this is the car for you. Looks like it started out as a nicely optioned and cool color combo car. Now there are just too many irreversible mods. I would only buy it if YOU like it, and won't worry about values down the road.

it's not that I'm necessarly looking to double my money or anything. It just seems crazy to me that a car like this would keep it's value over time. I know that for the purest its probably a cringer but there's always going to be someone like me that really likes this type of modification. And it is still a 993 and if in great shape and properly maintained will be desireable in future years.
Anyway, I guess not to many are interested in this type of thread but thought I would throw it out there cause it would be fun. thanks all and have a great day.

Not a fan. It does look like it had a beautiful full leather boxster red interior at one time.

Not really my taste either. The body kit looks cheesy, even if it did cost lots to install back in the day. And too many mismatching themes - seats/doors/carpets, dash, roll bar, racing stripes etc. Too much going on.

i'd pass.... some of those body panels don't look like they're fitted right. The question I have with these are, why? why was this done to begin with? Was the car wrecked and this was an interesting experiment? no 993 sits 6 months these days.....

Yikes!!
If you like it and it checks out, then buy and enjoy. When you go to sell, you'll face a very very small pool of buyers seeking this level of modification i.e. tough sell.

Looks like that car had full leather interior at one point, and boxster red at that. You don't see that every day.

The Ruf inserts in the seats are interesting. Never seen that before. I thought Ruf used Koenig K5000 seats in 993 era cars? Looks like overall a lot of money spent on the Ruf stuff.

i see what you mean about the 6 month sitting!!!! Does seem kinda strange. They are asking 40000 for it. maybe if they come down to 20000 (kidding) it would beto hard to pass up))

Has there been anything done to the engine to back up the aggressive tuner look of the car? Some of the car reminds me of mine (silver exterior, red leather, aluminum highlights, and ATWIE steering wheel) but all of the mods to my car are reversible. Many of the mods to this RUF-looking cab are not reversible.

Personally I think the body kit on that car is WAY over the top for a cab. Perhaps if it were a 993TT cab... maybe but it still looks silly to put that much aero and stripping on a cab...
