What is the best product to clean the outer rims? Thanks

Not sure of the rim finish; but, if they are dull or suffer any minor scratches, I used Meguiars 205 polish. It will restore the surfaces to a mirror finish. Once restored, keep the rims waxed.

They have some dark smudges and streaks... (daily driver)

I really like Sonax wheel cleaner. I usually do the following:

Sonax - just spray it on and let it sit for a minute or so
Rinse
All purpose cleaner - soapy wash mit
Rinse
Dry
sealant/wax (if needed)

P21S wheel cleaners are best. Made in W Germany. I have been using it for decades.

BBS rim sections for the 3 piece wheels (e28/e88) are raw aluminum. i have had great luck using abrasive paint or metal polish on them.

If they are in rough shape, wet sand with very fine (1600?) grit and then polish to the desired luster. Apply wax when done as they will start oxidizing right away.

You can also disassemble the wheel and machine polish the rim halves for a very nice polish. That makes it easier to not scuff up the rim centers.
