carsdream sent me a 996 wheel done to my specifications FIRST, then i sent them my old wheel as a core to keep. no downtime. their wheel refinishing is outstanding. one of the best things i did to my car.

OK, we seem to be close. I see the initial 10 wheels.

So we might be sending them out earlier than I expected. if others want to jump on this, it's great, let me know. if things go well we can start shipping them out on 15th through 20th of January or so.

Guys, when you email me with specific instructions on what's to be done on each wheel, please include your phone number just in case. If anything needs to be clarified and for shipping back to you later on, I'd like to have it just in case. I'll also provide my cell so you have it to hound me with questions: "When is my wheel going to be in my hands?"

BTW, I checked with them today, they will do carbon fiber. Either as a replacement for old carbon fiber, or replacement for old leather. This is for Todynot and others who might be interested.

I will say this, though. I can personally vouch for their leather work and stitching based on 4-5 wheels I've touched and examined. I've never seen their carbon fiber and have no idea of quality or longevity. Nor do I know pricing for it.

thanks for leading this effort Nile 13! any more details about just airbag recovering? thanks!!!

Not sure about just the airbag, Stace. I've asked them to quote me. The bag itself can not be shipped, just the cover (not sure how cover comes off the bag, though). And, again, over my objections

The group is now between 6 and 10 wheels already and I think we'll be able to start shipping wheels to Poland towards the end of next week.

Hi Stace,

Donald at Dallas Custom will recover airbags, airbag and all. I did pack the airbag in form fitted foam to help ensure no issues - and limited shipping to ground only (no air). The cost was $250 for the airbag, and I couldn't be more pleased with the work.

The stitching from Nile13's guy in Poland also looks first rate. If he did airbags, I would be looking for another 3 spoke to have him recover for me. The 3 spokes are like CD's IMHO...

Jim, he does airbags. I'm awaiting pricing from him. But the bag can not be shipped, so cover needs to be removed and shipped separately.

Just looked at my airbag and its not as easy to remove the vinyl cover from the airbag as I thought. Last thing I want is the airbag exploding in my face. Has anyone separated the center cover from the airbag or is there a shop that can do this?
