1995 vs 1996-1998 C2

I've had both '95 and '96 993s. I tracked the '96 and did feel a little more high end grunt. The '95 I have has a (european sourced) shorter geared tranny, but other than this, they are really not significantly different.

One thing about 95's that most of the owners do not seem to mention - they do not handle the RS flywheels very well, and in fact its not recommended. People have tried fixes, but the dme just does not react well to a faster down revving engine. The usual option is a mid-weight flywheel which is hard to obtain and wickedly expensive. Since the RS setup is so great, i treat this one as a real downside.

a) all things are not equal. Too many years, (hence innumerable variables in maintenance) since 95-98 until now to ask the question, "all things being equal, which is___?____"
b) PPI results, overall condition/maint records, and your personal preferences of how said car is optioned have far and away more to do with "what may happen mechanically" than considerations of +/-variorum or OBD-I.
Hope that helps you a bit
