Default 1995 Porsche performance chip

Hi guys, I found a guy locally (Toronto) who will chip my car. Any ideas, I need to drop my power band down from 4000 RPMS. Any suggestions or ideas of anything else I can ask for

What do you mean "shift the powerband"?

The motor will make power where it makes power. The chip simply optimizes fuel and spark to give it what it needs when it needs it.
You might be able to tinker with when you activate the varioram, but doubt you will see more power..

Need to begin powerband earlier say 2750. More throttle response

To the best of my knowledge, you would need to retune the intake, exhaust, and potentially cams, then adjust fuel and spark to match.

See what others have to say. There are some really smart people on here.

Well, that's called regearing.

But if you're begging for better throttle response (which has little if nothing to with what you're looking for--torque), then you're down the road of spending absurd amounts of money on completely replacing the intake and exhaust.

The other thing you may consider

Lighten the drivetrain
Light flywheel
Light wheels/tires (yes some tires are lighter than others)

Replace any worn bushings.
Stiffer rear springs

Louder mufflers, while won't actually make the car faster, you will feel like it is.

You would be surprised much much of a difference these simple things will make.

My car feels very quick, instant throttle response, and it has stock motor, stock gears, and stock weight...

JMHO, but the person doing the chip should have 911 air-cooled experience otherwise you could be buying a new set of pistons & cylinders before long.

My 95 C4 came chipped with Steve Weiner's chip, the same in many, many '95 993's. I like the varioram in my '97 better to be frank, but I've been very pleased with the performance from Steve's chip as an equalizer. Moreover, he's a Rennlist technical advisor and very helpful if you've ever got a question.

Same with my '95 c4. I did realize this was a common occurrence for this year/model.

Another source is, 911chips.com

Steve Wong has been producing 911 chips for quite some time now.

Been running Steve's chip with LWF for 11 years; transformed the engine from a staller to one sweet running car.

Highly recommended.

Hello Steve, are your chips compatible or also, designed to run in RoW 993's? I have a 95' RoW with emissions delete from factory, i.e. no oxygen sensor.
