John's Foreign Car in Laguna Niguel. Ask for Russ. They specialize in air-cooled 911s and I have been using Russ for my Porsches since 1993. He's worked on my 1996 993, since new.

Hergesheimer in Lake Forest is family owned and very reputable IMO.

+1 They did mine. Very thorough and clear in their communication to me (verbal and written).

Thanks for the leads guys! I'm closing in on my first car and I don't want to blow it.

+1 They were so thorough that they even found a fault with Chris Walrod's car. I bought it anyway of course

Is it out of the question to go up to Torrance? Callas Rennsport is always a safe bet.

Reviving this thread.

Looking to add a 993 and don't want to botch it! For OC, still recommend Hergesheimer?

Definitely! I think they are particularly well suited to the older Porsches.

Default Check out Haydon Bros in Anaheim

I used to use Hergesheimer but they lost their front guy, Bobby. Their work is great but the communication went south.
I found and much prefer Haydon Bros in Anaheim. Not saying they are better for a PPI but I did feel the communication was better about what I wanted.

Good luck!
