Default Market Meltdown - Good or Bad for Classic 993 Prices?/

With portfolios plummeting, will investors go to more tangibles such as real estate and classic 993 cars? Or will the lack of financial confidence put a screeching halt on recent aggressive price escalation? Thoughts?

I'm hoping a complete meltdown and massive selloff. I can't afford a turbo at today's prices.

You already have a turbo, so you're set.

Me, not so lucky. Tried to talk the wife into one for $50k in 2008 and that was the closest I ever got.

You have a 993. Sell that, and buy a high mile turbo. Shouldn't cost you more than a 30k to 40k to do so.

This "meltdown" is nothing more than an emotional market correction. Sure, China is slowing down and interest rates here in the U.S. must rise at some point, but this correction is simply profit taking and emotion. By the end of the year, the S&P etc will be ahead for 2015.

As for 993 prices, it won't make any difference.

melt down? 10-15% drop is a blip not meltdown
when AAPL and GGOG are at $2/share, we have a melt down
relax.

I find it boring that what was a hobby when I was a kid seems to have turned into a business today.

At Monterey Car Week people seemed more interested in the value of their car as an investment rather than its value as a car to drive and have fun with.

Sad to me.

I was offered one for $42K (Turbo, that is) with 40K miles in 2012. And I don't even have a yelling wife, or any other kind Didn't buy it, though.

Same here. I don't want to look at the cars as investment. I don't want to look at them, period, even if they are absolutely beautiful. They are made to be driven.

+10000000000

Soooooooo tired of ALL the "value" bull****. Takes all the fun out of it. If the 993 "market" (puke) keeps going the way it has, I WILL be selling one of mine. Only makes financial sense. Sad.
