The latest on exhaust tips circa Aug 2015?
Hi folks --- what's the latest on exhaust tip options for NB 993s circa August 2015?
The junk aftermarket exhaust tips my car came with are --- junk. The flange is cut at this weird angle and no amount of fiddling will get the clamps to clamp them on securely. I'm going to bin them.
In an ideal world, I'd like the "angle slash cut" exhaust tips with "straight, not rolled lips." In other words, I'd like the old FDM ones --- that's right --- the ones that are not made anymore ---- so I guess that rules that out ---
Old FDM tips
Given that these are no longer available, what are the best options these days?
Many thanks.

- Porsche Narrow Body Wide Oval - I am to understand these are upwards of $500 (absurd). Anyone have a part number?
- Dansk -- Pelican has these for $211 --- http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg2.htm#item7 --- does anyone have these installed? Here is an old thread which suggests that the Dansk tips are quite smart --- but I am unsure if these are the same as those that Pelican has on offer? https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...al-tips-2.html
- Ebay Specials? These from the UK look nice -- non-rolled edge --- but --- I'm nervous? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911-...item5af200907d
Many thanks.

I love my Big Ovals, but yes, they ain't cheap. Lucky for me, they came with the car.
I was very close to replacing the mufflers with Dansk, not realizing that in fact I have the RSR modified mufflers and the big ovals.
So I would have paid a ton of money for a downgrade, and would have thrown those perfect exhausts away.
Luckily, the deep growl of the car made me investigate, and I realized the error of my ways before it was too late... )))

I have oem wide ovals for my C4S - the bottoms are beat up - considered having them refinished but would need some welding - so I bought a set of wide oval knock offs on e bay- wide body figment is super hard to find - but they are pretty good! Only cost a couple hundred bucks and they fit perfectly. The taper is not the same, but for the novice you'd never know and I have the originals to go with the car

The wide ovals were one of the very few options originally on my car. It was nice to get a set of the FD's (thanks to rl-er Blue TTop) and get them back on. Jlaa, I might have to bite the bullet and pay the crazy oem price if I were you. The look is great and it is hopefully a 1x expense.
PS I'm good at spending other peoples money

My mother in law is staying with us for a week. That's a good excuse to spend some moolah. :-)
