Recaro pole position maounting options
I'm looking at the BK mounting since it re-uses the factory rails. I've seen a few options out there but was curious what the most economical one might be based on seats with no mounts but I have factory (4way) seats with manual sliders. Of course, I don't mean cheapest but, just the best route with what I have and I want it to be safe.
Here are the mounts I'm looking at: http://www.bkauto.com/category_s/252.htm
Are there better options with what I have?
Edit: maybe a mod can fix my spelling in the subject line since I can't edit that part.

Here's what I used on my '85. I had to mod the brackets a little, but I really like the end result. The pull bar is hidden and you get the tang to mount your seat belt to. It looks really clean when finished.

Interesting. Was there some reason you prefer the sparco mounts and aftermarket sliders for pole positions when factory sliders are available? Is the fit better?

Good question. I bought my seats used and one of them had the Sparco sliders installed. I liked them better because of the tang for the seat belt recepticle. I don't think the Pole Position mounts for the 911 have them. So, I already had one set and liked them and didn't want to buy 2 new sets.

options for sliders
option 1
use factory 993RS parts
pro fits well and is an easy install
con expensive
option 2
use any of the manual seat factory sliders
con rareity
options for sidemounts
BK
pro they can be made to work
con they are a hard stainless steel and very difficult to work, several holes and some trimming is needed and w/o a good machine shop setup you are SOL
Recaro steel
pro easy to work, inexpensive
con you will need to make similar mads as to the BK sidemounts
Recaro Aluminum
pro easy to work
cons not as robust as some others
there re various other aluminum sidemounts the best are 5mm
here are Recaro sliders w/ factory GT3 sub bar and BK side mounts, you' would need to source the hadrware
here are the mods to mount the BKs, again w/o a good machine shop it would be tough to do this
here is a steel Recaro side mount on Recaro sliders w/ factory RS tunnel side seat belt mount, 993 rear seat belt receptacle assembly
Recaro aluminum sidemounts, RS seat belt mount 6 x3mm RS washers to level the seatt, the GT3 sub bar is also 3mm at the mounts and is also sandwiched between the side and slide. The rear od the side has been truncated for appearance sake
the whole assembly

Thanks Bill. So since I have factory manual sliders on my car, that part wont be an issue to source. I'm not sure I understand why Recaro or anyone else would make specific mounts for the pole position seats to go on the factory sliders that would then need additional mods. That sounds a little disappointing that someone couldn't make one that fits. Thanks for the heads up.

Perfect timing!
I too am installing the Pole Positions.
Recaro sliders, Alum recaro mounts, Bk sub mount, Bk harness clips, RS side mounts.
I will second Bill's experience. Additional holes for mounting.
Test fitted rear seat belts receivers. Too short.
Test fitted front seat belt receivers. Too rigid. (will not fit in side access hole.)
Anyone have another solution for receivers?
An extended (flexible) seat belt receiver with warning light switch would be ideal.
Have read on here about the 997 receivers, but read mixed reviews on buckle size.
Many Audi VW Bmw's have the same buckle design / size. Thoughts?

Isn't there a bracket you can add to extend the belt? I see Bill has a different style receiver.
Any reason you didn't reuse your sliders or were yours not manual on the stock seats?
