Potential buy high mileage help

Rough idle is sort of a 993 thing. if i's really bad, look at the rotor, plugs, wires, etc, but there's always a bit of a slight lumpiness to the idle- mine smooths out perfectly when the air-con is on, and has a very slight bumpiness when it warms up.

This will be my first Porsche
Had lots of bimmers
But something about porsche that is raw and genuine
When I start the motor it starts out as a VW then it's injected with steroids immediately and starts to rumble.
It idles rough. then you find it smoothing out during acceleration till redline.
275 hp. Feels like 400 in my m3
I love these things
I've been drinking
But still

Brought the car home yesterday
Parked it in the garage. (Wife's car now sits outside)
This has a cam cover leak but it sat over night after driving it 70 miles in 90+ weather and it has yet to drop any oil on the ground.
So I'm feeling good about how slow the leak actually is
And maybe it just needed to be driven a longer distance

Ive been looking into a higher mileage 993 as well. Not for an investment but to drive one of these cars.
my price is in the Low $30's similar to the new owner in this thread, it makes me feel much better that a lot of the work on these cars is still DIY.
I'm currently looking at a car with 205k on it. Black on black for low $30's. i think it ticks most of the boxes on my list, and i can slowly clean the car back up. At first i wanted a 964 but after i saw the differences of the 993 is when i really started to fall in love with them. It sucks that the prices for them are relatively high, but as long as I'm able to find one in the low $30's with high mileage and i can still use it right away, id be happy.
do you guys see many high mileage cars go up for sale around that price, or is few and far between?

It seems high mileage 993 are very hard to find. Everyone seems to be cashing in on their low mileage $45 all the way to the $100k's.
what I love about the car I got is it had 6 owners and 170k miles. And there isnt a damn thing wrong with it. What will happen if I pay a premium for a babied 993 with low miles? maybe nothing maybe if I start driving it hard after all those years things that are old and never replace start to go. I dont know. Not trying to pat myself on the back but I feel good about my purchase.
Im going to be taking to a alfa track day in a month in Fontana. I might be a little worried but ill take it easy.
I bought it to drive it
already replace the door panels to the RS ones from appbiz. Amazing!!

Nice work!
im in the the same boat as you, i use my cars, i don't preserve them. thats a main reason i why i don't want to purchase a perfect 993 with low miles. If the motor would go on a high mileage car, then oh well, i guess i have to build it to a 3.8 or 4.0, aw shucks!
I'm on the hunt now, patience is key, but not easy!

the one I found was owned by the mechanic that I was going to for a PPI on a giant peace of crap from Beverly Hills car club (beware)
He had this one that wasn't really for sale. So it wasnt on the market.

Oh gotcha, I was looking at the BHCC car, what all is wrong with that one? I assumed something was wrong with it since its been on their website for quite some time. Is that car gonna be a money pit? Of course I called them and they said it is an excellent car. Go figure

The black one just ticks all the boxes for me, assuming there isn't anything major wrong with it. I wish I live in LA so I could pop in and look at it.
After talking with them yesterday they said its in good working order, but I would certainly get a ppi and flight out there before I pulled the trigger to be safe. Haven't decided if I should yet or not.
