Default RL Mounts

had these installed since my OEM's gave up the ghost (the ugly thing in the last photo). i was dead set on getting the RS mounts until these suddenly appeared on the radar....they look beautiful, were less expensive than the RS's, and come in three (3) flavors; race, sport, and street. that combination proved irresistible.

Wow, those are nicely made. I assume you installed them already? How do they feel, and where did you source them?

mike, 4th photo is how they look installed. they "feel" fine although that's somewhat misleading because i never really did anything with the car that would provide a basis for comparison. rennline.com is where i got them. everything that i've purchased from them has been top notch; and when mistakes (inadvertent not incompetent) were made their customer service has been excellent.

Yep, I would have went for those, had they been developed when I bought my RL solid mounts. Very happy with the solids, just would've like the option.
Just outta curiosity, how does the top of bolt (inside mount) work, where that smooth top is? For the turbo, you need longer bolts since carriers ands are thicker.

Nice looking product. I'd have been tempted too if they were available when I changed my mounts. Still the OEM RS mounts have been great so far!

Any idea how the weight compares to other engine mount options?

Nice! I already have Wevos, but would have given these a shot when I was shopping around. Wevos have been great thus far, FWIW.

I will be looking at these when the OEM mounts on the 4S bite the dust. Thanks for posting.

i had my shop install them but when you unscrew them from the bottom the pillows and the metal piece fall out, so you can change the pillows. not sure if I've answered you because i wasn't observing when they were changed out.

they feel 'substantial' meaning a quality piece, and felt about the same as the ugly OEM mount. but i didn't put either on a scale...just went by feel.

Can someone outline the procedure to replace the mounts. Seems like it would be rather simple. Support the engine from below unbolt the mounts and put new ones in. My concern is I do not have a lift so I have concerns as to if there is a fastener that is obstructed on the end of the mount that requires exhaust disassembly.
Any insights are greatly appreciated.

Did you also upgrade/strengthen your engine carrier? I've heard that you really should if you install stiffer mounts. Anyone with more knowledge on the subject care to step in?
