Default 993 911GT Tribute

I joined about 1 year ago , but never formally introduced my self , My name is Helio, and this my 1976 911S - 993 911GT clone, I have owned her for 23 years, When bought in 1991 ,It was just a plain jane 911S w/ 2.7. I was 22 years young , fist thing I did was widen the rear fenders , Carrera style , front valance and H5 head lights then up grade the susp to an 86 incld the brakes ,sway bars etc, followed by 1988 3.2 . then installed light weight fly wheel and clutch pkg, chip , cat bypass, K&N filter and a B&B muffler,
I mainly drag raced her, then I found PCA, I did some auto cross and DE's , Back in the day Cool Carbon pads where a good upgrade and ATE blue and BF-G's wow my lap times went down,

I now addicted to more performance in 1995 I saw a 993 911 GT2 fell in love with the style, I couldn't by the car, but I could trans form my 76 911S , what looked like an 86 Carrera by now. so in in the late summer 1996 I started and finished early spring 97 Name: 1-26-2012 004.jpg

Well the 1995-96 911GT was 2850 pounds and 430 hp , the street version with 225 F and 285 R . I wanted to be lighter and more powerful and handle almost as good,

FRONT, B&B full width oil cooler, 993TT brakes w/ custom hats, brake bias adjuster, 22mm torsion bars, RSR Bielstien shocks, Tarrett mono ball shock tops and sway bays, Kinesis fully forged 245-40-17 ( out dated next set will be 18's speedlines)

REAR, Elephant racing 935 style spring plates ,RSR coil overs 500lbs , Custom valved 125/325, 965 3.6 rear brakes caliper 930 rooter , 315-30-17 Cut the torsion bar tube.

TRANS, G50-01 Patrick Motorsports strengthened bell housing ( I broke the 1st one)
8;32 R/P gives me 163 at 7300 rpm's ,KEP 600 lite, clutch pkg , stock fly wheel,G50 peddle assembly and axles.

NGINE, ( I broke 2 motors using reconditioned parts, I learned my lesson) It started as 1989 930/66 ROW , the cases polished inside , boat tailed and shuffle pinned , New crank , new 3.3 OE PC's , Carrrillo Rods , ARP bolts, 3.3 heads polished and matched ,machined 1m to get 7.5 to1 comp, 964 cams, New valves , Assco Racing high rev springs and titanium retainers ( good for 8500 rpms)

IGNITION, Peterma Tune all in one no coil and 930/66 dizzy dual vac, timing set at 29 deg BTDC w/ hoses disconnected at 4000 rpms ,

INTAKE, stock intake ROW 930/66 CIS 320mil per min custom fuel head matching fuel lines, 009 injectors, 930/66 WUR 112 ( Cly's 2 and 5 set up to flow more fuel to make up for the extra air they get. I got pic's) K&N kit, Custom IC full width , 965 style BOV. Fuel pump 1 Bosch 044,same a GT2

TURBO , Turbonetics/Garret T4/T3 turbonetics 60-1 comp O trim ,hot side Garret dual scroll housing 84 AR , V band, 46m Tial wastegate 1.1 Bar spring

EXHAUST , Carrera heat exchangers ( with some modifications ) Borla race muffler

I also moved the moved the motor and trans forward 3/4 of an inch , the G50 mounted to a plate that is then mounted on a stock 915 trans mount, on different holes, the engine mount is bowed a little, 930 are set up at 38/62 balance , I now have 40/60

POWER , Dyno tested 428 FWHP and 490 tq at 4200 rpm's , On a cool day with 93 octane
1/4 mile 11.98 at 123 , 0 to 60 3.9 top speed 163 I get there in just over a half a mile.

With their prices skyrocketing, that makes even more sense now.

I have seen your ad on Pelican. I'm not usually in to the more wild builds but yours does seem really well done. Looks great in pictures.

It has been a long journey , I hate to see her go but I have just sold the car, and have done a PPI and leak down, cly 1 tho 5 98% cly 6 at 96.5 %, , the shop owner has always been amazed how this engine has held up,

The person who test drove my car , has owned 993TT ,997GT3 and a 997- 2 GT3 RS he said that my car would blow them into the weeds..lol He recently drove a McLaren 650S and that car would b e a comparison to mine , He was impressed.

Sad, shes being picked up in a few days.

Is the suspension original? New struts and some thicker anti-roll bars could make a noticeable different for how dialed in the ride is.
