Default Help with wheel back spacing

Hello RL,

I'm looking a set of used wheels in 18x8 and 18x10 set is listed for "930" fitment and I want them for my 993WB. Since are 3 piece I could in the future, somehow, custom order inner or outer halves o match the fender gap if there is a issue.

Seller seems like he doesn't have the ET but says back spacing is from pad 6 and 6 1/2. I'm far from wheel expert and I'm not sure if with these values someone could figure out if they will fit decent in my car?

Thanks

Thanks, those are good looking wheels, however I'm set on wheels with lip this time and I already found a set of Speedline Alessio 3 piece.

Front are 18x8
Rear are 18x10

Of the bunch photos that are some raw/blurry seller sent there is a ET50 on the spoke stamped, I asked him already if that photo will be for the 18x8 or the 18x10 (but still didn't reply me), but my guess would be for the rear as these wheels are 3 piece and has some lip. Also he sent me two photos, can't ID which is front and rear, and one measure the backspacing arround 6" and the other arround 6,5". Photo angle and bit blurry doesn't help me to ID correctly the values.

Add states is for 930 "wide body" fitment, not sure how much difference could exist between a 930 and 993wb.

Ayone could have a raw idea if these wheel fit in a 993 WB?

I'm trying to get more details from seller as soon as I get I will post them up here.

Thanks

930 and 993 o/s are completely different, w/ spacers 993 o/s wheels can be used on a 930 , the reverse is not possible.

a 993wb came w/
8x18ET52
10x18ET40(or 10x18ET65 w/ 25mm spacers for a net ET40)

you can fit wheels that have a little more front space but will be limited by a combination of the fender lips and ride height and alignment.
in front 8.5ET50 to 56 have been used the higher the numerical ET the more room at the lip w/ less room inboard

in back
the stock wheels have a frontspace of 3.93" and backspace of 7.07", the stock 285/30 x18 tires on the stock wheels have a frontspace of 4.04" and backspace of 7.19". There is plenty of room on the back side, the choke point is the front space/fender lip.

an 11"ET52 wheel w/ modern .5" flanges will have a tire f/s of 4.04 and b/s of 7.97", these should be an easy fit w/ 305/30 tires as the tire f/s is the same as w/ the stock 10ET40//285/30 x18 setup

To move the outer face of the tire outboard use a numerically lower ET, the tire moves out 1mm for each 1mm increase in ET

Bill thanks for the reply. I'm still scratching my head trying to interprete/figure out those numbers on how affect the mounting space in the car. What is clear to me and I did know from the past, the lower ET the wheel, the stick out more of the hub centerline (to outboard) but sometimes I believe, two identical wheel dimenssions but differentl design even with the same ET somehow they sit diiferent in the same car as the backspacing could be different.

Anyways, seller is not replying me in a clear way when I ask about the specs, but he sent me few photos of how he was measuring the backspacing, problem is that I don't know which photo belong to what wheel (front or rear) but so far I do see "6 and 6.5" of backspacing in different photos.

Given this set is a 18x8 and 18x10, and those backspaing numbers, what do you think is the backspacing belong to what wheel? Would make sense this?

18x8 = 6" backspacing
18x10 = 6.5" backspacing

or

18x8 = 6.5" backspacing
18x10 = 6" backspaing

I could post some of those photos he sent with a ruler showing the width and backspacing if you would like?

Thanks again,

-Diego

EDIT: He said forget about the ET stamped on the spokes as these were custom build for different Porsches
