The little things bring satisfaction (Carrera script + David Etter's Pad Keeper)
No heavy duty information here --- just wanted to say that it always seems to be the little things that bring great sastisfaction. I installed a replacement spoiler wall, and in doing so, got rid of the glossy black "911" badge that the previous owner put on and replaced it with the correct OE "Carrera" badge - part number 993.559.237.00-70C.
In doing so I was able to lay the "Carrerra" script over the faint "Carrerra" outline in the clear coat that the old badge left ..... the "911" badge never covered that and it bothered me.
Question ---- Is the "Carrera" script supposed to be matte black (not glossy?)
Second ---- I installed a black plastic bar to finish off (make the edge look nice) the new Appbiz "ultimated sound pad" that I installed. I don't recommend this particular brand of black plastic bar, but I will say that anyone who wants to install such a thing should look into David Etter's Padkeeper. https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-P...12603168954658 David's product is really quite superior --- especially since he made long plastic nuts that can catch the metal posts even in the face of additional soundpad thickness (like the appbiz "ultimate sound pad" that I used).
Stock plastic nuts (whether the closed OE or the open style [99904902040] from Porsche didn't work ---- David was kind enough to help me with some of his custom nuts.)
Don't buy the "pad finisher" that I did ---- buy David's "pad keeper!"

store isnt working yet, but you can email him at "cmrdce AT aol DOT com". David will send an invoice for the pad keeper and ship it. they around $165 shipped. sure there are cheaper ways but this is a one stop deal without having to fab anything yourself. sign me up.

I know right. Pretty spendy. About the absolute max I would pay for being too lazy to make one myself. Besides I have an extra motive bottle and can of brake fluid I can sell now to offset

Inre the "glossy" question, I have that exact question myself. The "Genuine Porsche" Carrera emblems I'm seeing look much more matte than my original one, which just fell off the other week. I'm wondering if this could just be a side effect of a few years of polishing and waxing, which buffs out the badge?

Another happy 911 Pad Keeper here, a good bit more than just a simple bar. Once you see it the value feels pretty darn good. Really well engineered and manufactured solution.

alright installed my 911 Pad Keeper here...
at $167 this thing is no joke as far as its cost... essentially i paid the premium because i am too lazy to create something myself in my garage. the luxury of opening a box and sticking someones product on there was worth it to me. I commend David for taking this product to the masses like he has. its simple, clean and does the job.
i was a little disappointed i had to dremel the passenger side edge down to match the contour of the compartment, by about 1/8th to a 1/4" along its last 3" or so. Also on the drivers side, I had to shorten the fastener peg about halfway to clear the blower housing.
installation took about 20 minutes (if that), packaged up professionally and included directions so you can even do it after having been up all night long working
stage II droopage in effect... failure imminent.
cleaned up with PadKeeper
Dremeled here:
made this peg shorter by half its height to get it to fit:

Looks nice. question. Since it has a 'lip' to it that hides the edge of the pad (as well as the primary function of supporting the pad) does that lip interfere in anyway with removing the ISV valve which I have not done but understand the tolerance there is tight. Trying to decide to go with this or make my own with the more traditional support only - no lip setup.

Jumping on the pad express, this has been bothering me lots and while $160 ain't cheap, considering I just paid $40 for Zenith bumper plugs, relatively speaking - this is a deal
