How many of you still use your 993 as

I DD'ed my 993 on and off for a few years. My wife and I were able to carpool for the last several years, but we cannot anymore. When I did drive it daily my job was horrible, and getting to drive my 993 was the one shiny part of my work day. I guess I DD her now, but I don't drive everyday.
It did great in the winter, snow, ice, rain. It was really a great daily driver, and I liked driving it the way the Prof. intended his cars to be driven.

I pretty much use it every day, year round, despite the awful DC traffic, despite snarling back ups on our Beltway and I270, despite weather or cold. When I have to take my friends out for the night, I take the DD MB S63. When the 993 is in the shop I take my DD instead, or when the salt is bad on the roads. Mostly though, even though the fan is making a weird noise, even though the A/C no longer works (again! I have to take it in to have it checked again), I drive the 993 because life is too short for me not too.
My new GF doesn't find it that comfortable but she doesn't complain much about it either. She thinks it's cute which makes her cuter to me. I didn't even tell her I had a Mercedes till 2 months into dating. She only knew me as a 993 driver at first. Now she of course loves the more comfortable MB but I still mostly drive the 911.

For those that don't speak German, the ad talks about all the compromises that you have to make at work, even giving up your Theater tickets to work late.
But on the drive home: No Compromises.

My car is my daily driver however we live in the Southern US where the winters are mild and I work from home. When we lived in snowy Cleveland we had an 86' Carrera with 4 snow tires in winter that was my wife's daily driver to the office, no problemo, rain or snow! We did get some really odd looks when we would show up at PCA events with snow tires on the car, WHAT like it doesn't snow in Germany? Andy
Winter wasn't as mild as I would like in Richmond this year Andy!

I use mine pretty much as a daily driver from April to November, if it's above freezing and the weather is nice. I don't mind getting caught out in the rain, but if it's raining in the morning, or forecast to rain, I'm likely to take the dirty, beat up Mazda.

absolutely
Not daily but at least once a week. Texas is one of those you drive 10 months, save for July and August. This past week was beautiful.
It is simply worth more to me than every mile I drive it. When I tell someone about the miles, I say "My only regret was not putting all the miles on myself!"

DD here since 01 ...and hope to continue until I can't! Though I do admit to scrambling for another car when it rains (which in SoCal isn't exactly often )
