Default Windshield wiper removal

permanently removing the windshield wipers.. Rather than leave bare posts, does anyone know a plastic cap to cover them up for a more finished look?
I'm not going through the trouble of shaving them...

There should be some vacuum caps that fit. Not plastic but rubber.

given the taper in the pin, it may be tough to get a real snug fit.

I had some caps machined out of black delrin (hard plastic) and threaded so they just screw on. I looked for something off the shelf and couldn't find anything. good luck

Yes, pics or it didn't happen :-)
I was gonna suggest what is called a "**** hole" cover. It's a plumbing item that covers the unused holes in your kitchen sink. They're usually stainless steel

Just affraid of ever having to deal with this, and not being able to have them, just in case. Otherwise, I'd be doing it also

Should have mentioned... I'm just removing the arms. Motor and shafts will stay.
What will remain is an outtie.. Cap will be an innie..

Aahh, I thought when you said permanently remove, that was the motor and shafts. So I'm running just like you with exposed "nipples". The wiper arms just live in the frunk 99.9% of the time.

No Garth, I thought he removed the whole assm. This was a downpour at Laguna Seca, where I needed my wipers. Actually the track needed wipers. Rivers were running across some areas. :-)

Ahhhh ha - my bad - from the pic, I'd assumed that with frantic sawing away at the wheel an errant pinkie had inadvertently tripped the wiper switch - on a dry day ...... not that that would happen to either of us
( confessional - the M3 wheel on my old E34 sits barely a finger width away from the wiper stalk, so I've done just that)

Yes in the nut and bolt section in the specialty drawers. 7/8" iirc.

I took the wipers off of Rufus, and covered the nipples with black rubber vacuum line caps from an auto parts store. Because of the taper, the caps will eventually crack and need replacement. But they are very cheap. The result is a very clean look (to my eye).
