I'd join a group buy for either "993" or "Carrera" scripted door sills.

Guys -

In my opinion, there is some bad form here. Our paying vendor advertised a product and most of the discussion has been about getting these elsewhere and cheaper.

Why not open a new thread?

I don't disagree with any of the comments on ROI, etc - but Gert sells them at whatever price he sees fit. Take 'em or leave them!

I hope that you get what I am saying - certainly not trying to pick an internet battle.

I agree and will delete my post referencing the ebay site. I have purchased from Gert in the past and both product and service were first rate!

No need to apologize.
I agree that the original Porsche ones are very expensive and there are some nice alternatives.

My goal was to give an update on the availability of these parts as most were not available in the past +10 years .

These are also available through Porsche classic for $470 in the US, not sure why there is such a big difference in price as Gerts pricing is usually spot on.

What model designation is $470 or are all of them the same price?

http://www.classicshop.porsche.com/p...355198005.html

$802 for the set. Although these are expensive I checked out the website and the prices really aren't that bad especially for parts that we (Rennlisters) spend a lot of $ on. Aluminum shifters for example. A funny thing I saw is that an OEM speedline RS wheel is only a little over $100 more than an twist wheel, LOL.

From their ebay ad:

We then fit a computer cut black textured overlay which not only protects the stainless steel from scratching but adds a discreet yet tasteful look.

To me and based on the picure in the ad that means the vinyl overlay has the model designation as a cut out. You are buying a SS sill but they cover 95% of it???? These would not interest me.
