I think those are made by FVD. FVD no longer has the etched sills but they do list 993 stainless sills without the etching for a reasonable price.

What kind of backing do these come with to avoid the fretting of paintwork ?
To be honest 2 strips of formed stainless and etching/engraving for the money quoted is outrageous. But I suppose if people are willing to pay it then it proves some have more money than sense. Do these really have a good ROE ?

I'm not knocking anyone for buying them and I agree they look very tasty but I can't justify the cost.

How can the price vary so widely when its basically the same thing with different etchings....I'd love to have a set because they look the business, but not for 700 bucks

Yep! That about sums it up!

Rudy,
Did you remove your plastic pieces first, or did you just install over the OEM plastic sills? In the photo (993 etched), it looks as if the SS sills are in place over the plastic.
TIA,
Paul

that was Harvey, his ebay handle was sales4pnparts. IIRC, these were a measly $55 a set when I got mine. Damn near any lettering, even reverse image...which is what I went with. The reverse image ones, utilized some type of film/tape, typical in the auto industry for wrapping trim. When I scuffed thru mine, I asked Harvey for touch up paint, that's when he told me about the film used in production. The guy offered to send me a replacement for free-yes, free. I at least asked to cover cost and shipping, got that replacement for $15.

Harvey has nothing on ebay now, I did business with him in 2010. I believe he had some listed after that time period. His were a perfect fit, had double stick tape on the back...and I simply cleaned the existing black plastic sill plates, and applied the stainless ones over top.

These are certainly a nice touch...but not at the oem price point IMHO.

I have a pair of those that say Carrera that have been sitting in the box for a long time. Maybe one of these days I will install them. They look better installed than I was expecting.
