That's an awesome trip... reminds me of driving mine back last summer (only a 6 hour drive, but good memories anyway).

Beautiful ride, I love that color I remember seeing it for sale on Pelican.

Congratz,
Here is an ever evolving list of maintenance and repair items that the typical 993 owner may run into.
It also includes some safety tips and upgrades you may find useful.
Enjoy the car!
Andy :-)

Congrats on the purchase!! A trip like that is certainly something that you will remember forever ... and doing it in your new (to you) 993 is the perfect cherry on top!!

There is definitely something to be said for the soul and character of air-cooled cars ...

Very nice introduction and write up. I totally enjoyed reading it.
Thank you for taking the time to post it all.
BTW, your right rear positioning light is out. I'm surprised nobody mentioned it yet.
Must have been a great trip.
Good luck with the car in the future,
Ed

Great write-up, it makes me wish I had done the same when I purchased my car! I took the easy route and had it shipped but after reading your story I realize what I missed out on.
Looks like you are well on your way to enjoying a wonderful 993!

Great writeup and pictures! I never seem to stop and take pictures on trips like this and after seeing yours I wish I would.

Enjoy in good health!

P.S. Have you named her yet?

Great story, thanks for sharing it! Reminded me of my ride last Summer from OH to Boston. And nothing better than the smell of oil and leather. Have fun with her!

It was terrible that first night, I got up probably 15 times to look out the window to make sure she was still there!

Kidding of course.....WELCOME!
She's chomping at the bit to drive the 993! Only thing holding her back atm is she can't drive stick yet. She already scheduled a "photo shoot" in June with the car I love my wife, she loves Porsches almost as much as I do

Love this pic. One week of ownership and you already have a worthy 'view from the loft' contribution. I am a little biased, but whenever I see shots like that I can't help but think that this is one of the best looking sportcars ever made. Enjoy

Couldn't agree more! It's such a beautiful shape

She has sooooo much character! I love the fact that this car has "been there and done that" It just adds so much more to the value of ownership. Here is a roadtrip Jason took her on to Cali!

Nice catch, I didn't even notice the light was out. Is it just removing that single screw on the panel in the corner to access the light?

Lovely story. You are blessed to be able to share this passion with your father. As well, You scored big time with the Slate Grey color!

BTW - your right rear sidemarker bulb appears to be out.

Congratulations again. Glad the transaction went smoothly with Jason and DMS. Looks like you got to spend a memorable few days with your father on the way home as a bonus. As Craig said, we'll miss Jason's car around here but glad it went to a new owner who appreciates what it is. Thanks for sharing.
