Looking to buy a 993

With that being said, it appears all checks out from the "frame" inspection. Could be a great driver for the right price!!!

^^ These can be the best cars as they've been thoroughly gone over and they won't command the big $$ . If you want a driver that won't lose money- I'd check it out

I have a '96 cab, w a tip xmission, a bit over fifty-thousand miles, and I am considering selling it. Passes smog, always garaged, fister IIs, new shocks. Top works perfectly. $35,000. The only reason I'm considering this sale is because I've been given my End Date and my wife doesn't drive the Porsche and I want to clear things up for her.

Looking to sell my 1995 993 C2
Hi, Louis.
I was just a few weeks from listing my 1995 993 C2 when I ran across your post, so your timing couldn't be more perfect. I've owned the car since 2009 and have maintained extensive service records during my ownership.
The basics:
• white w/ classic grey interior
• 150k miles
• manual 6-speed transmission
• never wrecked
• all systems work properly
• does not burn oil
• never tracked
Major maintenance and upgrades:
• Fister Stage II exhaust and wide oval tips
• M030 suspension w/ Eibach springs @ RS + 10mm
• Bilstein HD struts
• AC system completely rebuilt in 2011
• 18in Turbo Hollow Spoke wheels
• Brakes rebuilt and powder coated
• Clutch replaced in 2011
• Windshield replaced 2012
I'm asking $35k. The car is located in Nashville TN.
As soon as this arctic front passes through, Ill update with a current picture. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
Mike

Chiming in kinda late here, but there's one last thing I wanted to mention that you might want to consider.
I researched, and searched, for the right car for me for about a year and determined that the best year was a '97 (I didn't want a cabrio or a WB, so no 98 for me). Yes, they can have SAI issues leading to emissions test problems and yes the immobilizers are finicky, but I really didn't want the basket handle brake light, and most importantly, I wanted a VarioRam car. The VarioRam cars make more power and the power delivery is "better" as has been mentioned already. Yeah, you can chip a 95 to get it close to a VarioRam powered car's feel and output, but you can also reflash a VarioRam car and make even more power. The 97-98 cars can be reflashed while the 96's cannot and require the DME to be swapped for a later unit.
My car had the SAI system serviced, so this was a bit of a bonus. I would have bought the car anyways, as it had a solid service history and was the right combination of options and colors.
So this leads back to what has already been stated here. Buy the car with the best service history and in the best condition you can afford. Drive both early and later cars and see what you prefer. If you were local, I'd let you drive mine. Good luck!

I just saw this car posted on Pelican and was going to post it up on this thread when I saw Mike's earlier post. Looks very nice, and a sweet deal if all checks out. Sorry to see you letting this go Mike. Good luck with your daughter going off to college.
