Sorry I'm late to this but:
1) glad you and your son are ok
2) sorry about the car. I flipped mine last year and only now is it about to emerge from a year long resurrection.
3) dicker with the insurance company for as long as it takes to get an equitable settlement.
I literally doubled the payout by being an informed pest until they gave in. I had to settle for a salvage title, but at least she will live again! Mine was not as crunched as yours, however, and I had just completed a top and bottom end engine overhaul, so I was not about to crumple it up and throw it away.
Best of luck in your quest to regain the lofty heights of Porschedom.

Reiner, Wow I am in shock!! I'm so glad you and your son are OK from the mishap!! I went through a very similar mishap on the on ramp to I-5 at Southcenter a year ago now. There was so much oil on the roadway from everyone else's leaking heaps along with rains that worsened the situation along with 6 year old tires that were also not yet up to temp but worse of all there was inadequate signage to the shape of the curve necessary to approach the on-ramp.
