Sorry, didn't mean to offend and I guess I did. I sometimes try to inject a bit of humor into even a bad situation to lighten it up a bit but this time I should have just issued restraint as it wasn't called for. My apologies.

Better to be sitting with your son lamenting the loss of your car than sitting in your car lamenting the loss of your son. Glad you are ok and that it wasn't more serious. there are alot of 993s out there- go grab another one!

Condolences! Thrilled you and your son are ok. Kids mean EVERYTHING!

I had almost the same thing happen last week 405NB coming through downtown bellevue, luckily I was driving my Golf TDI and not one of the P-cars! Car started to go sideways towards the jersey barrier but amazingly the stability control straightened it out just in time. Happened so quick, frankly I wasn't paying enough attention. I can imagine in the 993 with my sticky summer rubber, no DSC and I would have had similar results.

I have a couple 993's coming up for sale soon and I'm local so let me know if I can help.

Oh man that SUCKS! We have had a ton more rain then normal, good thing you are both OK! I can't believe you got up any speed on 405 to crash, the news has been horrible about 405 backups!

I'm about to put my C4S up for sale, so if you are interested in a well sorted local car let me know.

Reiner, like everyone here has stated were happy to here it wasn't a tragic accident. I was really lucky in 2010 even though I crashed my turbo Mazdaspeed protege into a tree, me and my passengers survived with some bruising especially me and my ego. I've learned a lot more about car control since then and am grateful to be alive. Anyway, enough about me I hope to see you post on here in the future if you decide to go for another porsche.

Steve, whenever I read one of your posts I always smile because I remember that pic of you with the huge smile to match that massive pastrami sandwich from Sarge's Deli.

Where did that pic go anyway?

Regards,

Well sorted is a huge understatement, Michael's C4S is probably the nicest 993 I have ever seen (and the nicest one I have driven for sure).

Sadly, I can relate to this thread: my Boxster died on the Inglewood on ramp. Years later, the skid marks and a few parts are still there... We also got very lucky!
Constant reminder to be extra careful on these horrible LA roads.
The cheap concrete and asphalt surface is so bad, that you don't have to go fast to get in trouble.

Sorry, but the last thing I'd want to hear if I lost my car is sucks for you, but hey, the value my car just went up a bit. I fail to see the humor in that, long time poster or not.
