Default OT: New Ninemeister premises - updates on Facebook

Hey guys. Sorry that I have not been posting threads and updates as prolifically as usual recently. It's not because I have been slacking or that we are not working on any interesting jobs, it's simply down to me spending all my time setting up the essential move to our new Ninemeister Customer Service Centre in Woolston, just on the eastern outskirts of Warrington. With all the paperwork signed and finalised on 13th October (my wedding anniversary!!) the boys could up sticks and start the move of the office, tools & equipment 5 miles up the road to our new second home.

I'm glad to say that the lads have soon got the workshops functioning with the wheel alignment centre, 4 new service ramps and the tyre bay all operational and the office team have done their bit and made short work of re-organising themselves and the years of paperwork we have accumulated. The infrastructure has been interesting to say the least - relocating the communications cabinet with its 100+ CAT5 connections was a breeze compared to the pain of getting BT & PlusNet to install fibre broadband to allow us to communicate efficiently with the outside world - Freddie saved our bacon with a temporary 4G comms link after they cancelled our install date but hopefully following their visit last week we should be fully operational tomorrow.

Whilst all this has been going on, I have been concentrating on trying to get the "front of house" customer reception and showroom fully sorted and operational. After working my fourth consecutive 70 hour week (and with a lot of help from Sarah & Woody) I think we're nearly there: door is now fitted from reception through to the showroom, the roller shutter from showroom to workshop is fitted, trimmed and painted and the seemingly never-ending list of electrical additions & alterations are finally coming to an end. We've got artwork on the way for the reception, new external signage for the building front & entrance and will have the 9m van re-liveried soon.

Since we obviously have our work cut out in finishing all this off the purpose of the thread is to invite you all to keep in touch with the latest developments on the new Ninemeister Facebook page. Steve has done a grand job of setting this up and due to the ease of use Peter & myself can easily add photos and updates from our phones on a daily basis. When the dust settles I promise that I will be back with a few more interesting projects to keep you entertained, however in the meantime please drop in, take a look and add us to your "likes" so I don't feel quite so bad about not posting on Rennlist as often.

Thanks guys, see you soon.

Colin, see you in about 20 years......

My retirement gift to myself is for the wife and I to drive to the coast, ship the car to you for a light service, fly over and pick it up, tour Europe for months, drop off car for a complete rebuild, pick up car back in Canada and enjoy during retirement.

Hope this works for you

Adam, that sounds perfect, I'll look forward to seeing you then.

In the meantime you could always consider early retirement?

Freedom 35 was my plan but freedom 50 might be more realistic. I'll do my best to get there ASAP

Very nice Colin!

Its amazing how open a space looks, and then when you put in the lifts, machines, cabinets, tool boxes, lights, stands, tables, tires, wheels, spare parts, oils, solvents and cleaners, compressor, welders, paint booth, etc ... its just fills up with goodness!

Congratulations on the growing business!

Cheers,

Mike

Always love seeing shops expand! (Friend just moved his BMW repair facility to one 2.5X larger.)

Congrats on the new digs and wish you every success.
Seamless' plan sounds great - would like to make that trip too.
As a UMIST alum, I'm always chuffed to hear about Mancunian success stories.
Hope it brings all joy!
