Default does anyone know this broken part?

I noticed this during a tech of my car before ad DE event. This is right behind the fan. Does anyone know if this can be replaced without dropping the engine? Not sure what could cause this. My temp never went up so I wonder if this is used more for heating. Any info would be appreciated.

Common problem - simple fix - just buy a new one - install - and your good to go!

Jo-Hans supplied a link, or you could search for some or all of:

Fan shroud duct broken

Very common problem. Part is (or was) around $60 from sunset or Sonnen, three bolts to R&R,no engine drop required. Note there are two different part numbers depending on your yr/model, check on PET or Katalog

Careful, you will need the part that starts with 964 if you have an early 95.

You want the one with the part number that begins with 993 for the engine in the picture above

tsjoel, if you don't have the parts PDFs go to this link for download from Porsche, one of the few freebies you'll ever get from them:

It's not a freebie by any means. You just look up what you need to spend money on :-)
