Thanks for the info guys. I will report back after I put some miles on it.

Aside from the drone, the car does feel more raw and sporty with the Fister III, and so far my overall experience is still positive. My last hurdle is to get my wife and my son's approval.

Regards,
Definitely been my experience as well (with Cups). They were brash and obnoxious when first installed. Like the horn section in Satan's band.

They mellowed out to just plain obnoxious.

Definitely, timbre changes as the pack breaks in.

Cheers

i don't remember any drone, but they were too loud for my tastes.
I sold them to another happy owner

UPDATE: After about 300 miles the drone or resonance is almost completely gone, or it's progressively down to a level that it no longer bother me. It's just like magic. How could that happen?

Carbon buildup inside exhaust changes tone a bit over new. Drone seems to be a high gear low RPM problem. Not just on a Porsche but many marques that have performance exhaust.

I never lug my motor in the 2,500rpm range. I run 5th most of the time on the freeway and 6th when doing 70+mph. If I tried to lug 6th gear at 55mph my car would drone too.

I typically refrain from dropping into 6th gear until the speedo hits 100 MPH. I understand this is subject to variable driving conditions, but would be interested to hear from others on this. What's your ideal speed before shifting to 6th? Love the Stage III's!

The 'Magic" is either a slight coating inside, allowing a deadening effect, or, way more likely, you are simply getting used to it,

I feel the latter is the more reasonable explanation ( unless you have actual meter readings)

Also, mine are fine too. They sound just right.

I'm with "sander97c2". My car had BB on it when I got it. the drone was so bad. Got the III's after a few months and it was a different car. So happy.

Just installed my Fister III's and after a couple drives I have to say that I really, really, really, really love them. They make the car sound like it's supposed to sound.

Drone is what you hear when you see a kid in a lowered Honda with a huge "Fart Can" of a muffler where there isn't much change in the pitch of the exhaust note. What we hear in the Fister cans are a freer flowing burble with resonance. I'm glad to hear that your ears have finally tuned into them. There's nothing better than driving through a river canyon with a pack of 993s with Fister exhausts, just ask OPO about 993Fest.
