Need Atlanta body shop/repair info. Accident today )-;
Driving home today I had a Ford Explorer make a left hand turn in front of me. Grrrr!!! The other driver is at fault but now I'm in the unenviable position of dealing with the damage. The front hood, front bumper and the left front quarter panel section are all pretty messed up. I had the top down and was able to close the top just fine. Hopefully my German mistress stayed nice and straight.
I just called my insurance company and gave them the case number and all that jazz. My questions for you folks are... Where are the best body shops around the Atlanta area? I'll probably need a couple places to give to the claim adjuster. Also, paint shops ect... My poor car is sitting at the wrecker yard in Fayetteville and I want her out of there and in the hands of some fine German tinkerers asap!!!
Most important, no one was hurt. She had three small kids in her Explorer and they were all fine.
This is my first accident ever. The other driver already admitted guilt to the sheriff. If anyone has any other insight or advice I'm all ears. I really don't think its enough damage to total the car but I just want it fixed correctly.
Thank you fellow rennlisters,
Jason King

Jason you seem to be handling the accident extremely well especially after seeing the pics, glad no one was hurt. It's good to here the other driver is taking responsibility for causing the accident which is a rare response these days. I find myself anticipating what the other drivers around me may do like left turn from the right lane; is that what happened to you? Anyway good luck finding a talented shop to get her back to better.

Its funny how adrenalin and anger can mask an injury. Last night my right foot was so darn sore!! I'd like to say it was from kicking the other driver but its probably from pushing the brake pedal. My guess is when my foot was planted to the floor the impact was absorbed there. Nice stiff neck and shoulder today. Oh well. Nothing a couple days on the couch can't fix. Beer assistant!!!! The driver of the other vehicle and her kids are still doing well.

Hoserpilot I live in the Roswell area and use Goldcrest for all of my mechanical work, give them a call and I'm pretty sure they can point you in the right direction. They are located in Kennesaw.
Best of luck with the fix, have to say it looks like hell.

Sorry to see this! From an insurance perspective I think the car is totaled. And even if it is fixable you wouldn't want it back.
I would be looking for a check from the ins co big enough to find you a similar car as a replacement (including tax). I would start collecting data about recent sales of 993 cabs and be prepared to fight over the amount.

I talked to the folks at Goldcrest this morning. They recommended Magnum Collision. Guess I'll have it towed up there for an estimate of the damage and the cost of repair. Let the games begin!!
I know there are a ton of posts about asking prices. Other than the sticky up top there really isn't any easy way to know the actual selling price. Anyway, just for your reading pleasure, I paid $30,000 for the car last year. It had 64,000 miles on it. I just put on Bilstein HD's with H&R's. New tires. Nothing wrong. Everything worked. Limited slip. Short shift. A really nice respray from a couple years ago. About 68,600 miles on her now. This car has been a lot of fun to drive. The previous owner, I believe, comes on here now and again. Sorry man!! It wasn't my fault though!! Lol.
