Default Need some help 993 or 964 or 3.2. Long with pics!

Hey guys ,
So i've been off these forums for quite some time now.
Sold my 96' 993 C4S to a member on these boards and every time i see it around here i feel like committing suicide! lol
Was a beautiful Polar Silver with the Whale tail , Sport Back seats painted in Polar Silver and low mileage!
I sold it for nothing compared to what it's worth today and i regret it everyday.
Anyways after a few years away i'm back on the hunt and close to pulling the trigger again.
I'm not in the market to spend the kind of money S's , C4S's or Turbo's are pulling nowadays... ( why oh why did i sell my beauty )
So i was set on a 96' 993 Carrera Cabriolet. Initially wanted a coupe but after falling on this one the deal looks great. It's very well priced and looks fabulous.
But then... I fell on a 1988 Targa and a 1990 964 Targa. They are slightly more expensive then the 993 but not by that much.
Now i know nothing about the 3.2 1988 or the 964.
I've owned 2 997 C4S's and the 993 C4S.
But anything before the 993 i'm pretty clueless...
So i need some expert advice. I've done some reading and somewhat understand the differences between the 3.2 , 964 and 993. But again vaguely...
I know the 964 is closer to the 993 but the 3.2 is completely different.
I really don't know what to do.
Like i said i don't really know much about 3.2's or 964's . Can anyone give me a few benefits or disadvantages on these to.
Essentially which do you think would be the better purchase.
Resell is very important to me as well. I do not want to lose any money on them and a little profit would be welcome as well. I'm not looking to make the 150K that 993 Turbo's are pulling in but i am interested in something that will gain value as opposed to losing.
Attached you will find pics and info on the 3 current cars i'm looking at.
Those two Targa's are just spectacular... So clean and the 88' is a one owner car.
The 993 is near and dear to my heart but not sure about the Cab aspect. Are 993 Cabs still appreciating?
Sorry for the long post.
I'm from Montreal, Canada.

1 vote for the 993. Great upgrades and just much better looking than the 964 Targa IMHO.
The seats in the 993 are worth mucho $$.

964 all day long... Though I'd try to find some cup 1 wheels.

I own a 993 and a 3.2. I'd choose that 964 over the other two, not because I don't like the other two (well, I don't like cabs and mine are coupes) but the 964 has the last of the great, traditional Targa tops - the automated contraption on the 991 is silly - but that 964 also has a gorgeous color combo.
The 3.2 also has a great color combo and the bonus is it will be easier/cheaper to maintain (but not as comfy).

All three are going up in value, you can't lose no matter which one you pick.

Thanks for the advice!
I too am more of a coupe guy but this cab looks great!
Can the 3.2 Whale tail be added to the 964? Really looks great..

I'm partial to cabriolets:lowdown: This one seems to be set right but I'd check the shocks. It's a bit low for my tastes well but an easy fix
I do love the 964 Targa!

You've already had a 993. Go for one of the others this time.

The 993 Cab has sport seats? Wow...hard to find....I never liked the looks of the 964, but have never driven one..Could not live with the burgundy interior..The 3.2 is "old school" 80's Porsche looks with the "pontoon" front fenders going in to the bug eye head lamps...I have had a few 3.2's, 87 targa and 88 cab, both have the G50 tranny and they are like driving a raw VW...the 3.2's are also, per a mechanic, "like tractors" - that is simple and never break down. So if you do not have to have a coupe, I would grab the 993 with sport seats. Bon Chance!

I've seen the 993 cab up close at a few local events and it's a beautiful car and really loved by the current owner. It's a hell of a deal!

I would not buy anything from sellers using all caps. If I get a need to be yelled at I can always call my ex-wife.
