Mine will be out of the shop soon. 95k. 1996 C4S. Engine rebuild at 91k, rs engine mounts and crossmember. Fisher ssk and folder rod with stage 2 mufflers. No history on carfax. I had an incident on track and now have a car with all repairs done, full glass out respray, headlight washer delete, turbo S front spoiler, turbo S rear wing, and a deck lid with split and regular grills.

What am I looking at? Thinking of selling to get a track car.

OP, hard to tell on value. They have been steadily going up.

By now you've probably gotten a bunch of PMs with offers. That would give you a sense of where the LOW END value of the car is.

YOU PAID 39k only a few months ago? You did good. Personally I would hang on to it because that accident history is not a big deal as long as you have documentation. If you don't want to sell...don't. Put it in storage if you have to. The values are only going up and that looks like a really nice car in a good color combo that would be difficult and expensive to replace later on.

On the other hand if you're not that attached to it, you could make a few bucks.

Right now... I would guess $60k from the info and pics you provided. Try finding another one as nice for less.

That's my opion and watch the car market casually. (not in the business)

And what documentation do we have? Everyone's throwing numbers out there when there is no details on the repair work done…do we have receipts? was it done at shop that actually knows what they are doing? etc etc. The answers will greatly effect pricing.

Thanks! The PO put it up for the blue book value, and I was the first to go see it. It was a local car, but I'm surprised that he didn't do research, since he used to be a PCA member.

In 1997, it was a "corporate lease vehicle" in Florida, so I'd assume that it was well repaired. The 1997 accident will be lost forever.

I have receipts form the 2010 rear ending, just asked the PO for pictures. 2010 incident included a new OEM rear spoiler, and I believe some exhaust parts. Probably done by a shop that was recommended by insurance. PO told me that this was the last Turbo S spoiler to come out of the factory. When they called, Porsche said that he was in luck cause they had one left.

I'll post pics when I get them.

Possibly moving to San Francisco, and it's either take the 993 and sell the Audi, or take the Audi and sell the 993. Audi is a lease, whereas I own the 993.

Looking at the financial aspects of the move, besides the 3X housing cost.
I saw your original post when you bought that beautiful C4S. It was a GREAT purchase! Audi S4's are a dime a dozen - your 993 is a keeper that will only appreciate in value. Keep the 993 - you won't regret it!

I did not sell. But if someone were to offer me $67,438.88 it would be sold.

Definitely keep the 993 and transfer the Audi lease to someone willing. Figure out your best mode of daily transportation once you get here. Public Transit isn't amazing here, but it is present. Depends A LOT on where you live and work though. Living in SF vs. in the SF area are two entirely different things.

I moved from SF to Utah 4 years ago, and had no intention of ever going back, but tech companies which are not public yet can make SF look SUPER enticing. I was in the Soma/Mission Bay area, and definitely noticed how much the public transport sucked. I'm trying to figure out how I can NOT live in the city, but not have a horrible commute working in the city.

If only I can find a house with a 3 car garage within a 10 minute drive of the city for under $1MM!

Thanks Foxman, and you're right. S4s are a dime a dozen. Plus, the woman of the house has a Touareg TDI that I can always use for errands and Ski trips. Crusing down to Santa Barbara or up to Napa would be 100X better in a 993 vs. an S4!
