Not sending a signal to trigger the alarm, but upon activation via the button on the fob, arming the alarm itself in a faulty manner so that it is easily triggered or perhaps triggers itself. It's a far-fetched idea I know....

OK GUYS........ get this !

All of the alarm triggers generated event codes related to the Radio.
The radio, it turns out has some sort of magnetic tape & wire on the back if the wire becomes dislodged via tampering or old age the alarm can be triggered

That's the scoop from my Porsche Dealer

yep. I believe that wire shorts to the cage of the radio ie ground. So was the radio recently replaced or removed kind of thing and then you asked the stealer to program a new remote?

The switch they are referring to is a pretty simple system. If you remove the radio, it will be very clear. When you insert or remove the radio, the radio chassis contacts the cage, completing the circuit. When the radio is fully inserted, a little piece of tape on the radio chassis prevents the cage from contacting the radio in just the right spot.

Over time the tape (tape's glue?) can fail. I placed a new piece of electrical tape on my radio and all is well. It's a 10 minute repair.

Now, if someone tries to steal my awesome CDR210, they will start to slide out the radio, the tape(insulation) will move, the circuit will complete, and the alarm will sound.
