Yah, just saw that - its really sad and if excessive speed was really involved, preventable.

The weird part is the drivers side looks ok, no air bag deployment can been seen, the door is open and looks fine, car does not look really bent, but the driver died at the scene. Maybe no seatbelts on?

Very sad, hopefully not one of our Rennlist friends.

Hard to see from the pictures how it could be a fatality for the driver.

Awful to see.

A colleague of mine died in a car accident in similarly, seemingly-non-life threatening circumstances. He was a passenger in an older pickup, and they went off the road after hydroplaning and it was not one of those horrific looking wrecks. Just a bumpy off road excursion. The driver walked away fine - My friend bumped his head hard on the A-pillar and it killed him. No side airbag. We're pretty fragile.

Its possible that the driver might have had a medical situation like a coronary, etc.

Probably someone who's in Kirkland this weekend for "The all Porsche Grand Display". A PCA concours event that will be happening today, Sunday, at Carillon Point in Kirkland Washington. (I'm in town, headed that way now)

There was a group drive event that took place yesterday. Hope this didn't happen during their drive, but you know how things can get on some of these drives with lots of horse power and testosterone mixed together.

Very sorry to see.

RIP
