Default Never know where you'll find 'em

Hot tub in Maui tonight, discussion with another couple turns to cars. He's got an Arena Red/Gray '96 6-speed coupe with ~36K miles that he bought off a friend who needed to sell it when it was a year old.

He had zero idea what Rennlist is, but I invited him to come join us.

Nah, it's considered rude to take pictures in a hot tub without permission.

I was referring to the 993. I am not interested in hot tub pictures... Unless someone in there looks like Lopro's avatar!

What part of Maui Ken? We've always enjoyed the Makena Bay area.

Tell him it's not worth anything and offer to take it off his hands.
It's really great meeting new people like that. I'm sure their love of the car will grow once they discover this place.

I was laying by the pool at the Ritz Carlton in St Thomas, USVI, this time last year, and I noted the guy laying next to me had a Porsche cover on his iPhone. Turns out his wife owned a sweet 964 cab - they too had never heard of Rennlist, but they are probably on here now

I was laying on my chaise by the pool at the Hotel de Paris in Monte, finally enjoying some rest after the hectic F1 Grand Prix weekend
A slender shadow appeared wrapped in a Hermes scarf and commented in a French accent:
Bon voiture Monsieur are you Zames Bond ?
I scrambled to decode the message, taken aback by her statuesque topless physique covered only in silk when I realized it was my iPad cover sporting an Aston Martin
That's my company car I offered, I drive a 993 off duty !
I know all about the 993s she smiled back, I'm a member at cloub Rennlist
What's your name I asked
Je m'appele Porsita she said
And it was love at first sight

Westin Ka'anapali at the timeshare. We go down to/around Makena for snorkeling. Best spot is (was) south of there around La Perouse in the Ahihi-Kana'u area. Two place in particular, the Aquarium and Fishbowl.

He mentioned his sons were of age now to understand estate planning, and how the car might fit in that. He seemed to be fully aware of price trends, and has enjoyed the car over the years to the extent it's not going to be sold or replaced.

Enjoy Maui! My fiancee and I had a great trip there end of August/start of September.

Check out Star Noodle: http://www.starnoodle.com/ if you have time. Great food! Make a reservation ahead of time if able, there can be quite a wait. They are located up the hill from Lahaina:

I did. Didn't seem to be too interested.

Anyway, relaxing with too much alcohol this evening, oceanfront lanai being 50-60 yards from the water. Why? Got roughed up against the rocks down at Black Rock chasing a turtle around, trying to get decent video.

Round 1 went OK, though nothing particularly special:
