Default sunroof mystery

I replaced my perished sunroof seals and tried to explore why my sunroof does not work. The motor spins in one direction only (not sure which). the sunroof could be closed manually. Both cables are attached and slide freely. So it's not a blown fuse, motor gets power, connections and gears work. Any thoughts welcome. Thanks

Maybe a new switch? My switch broke a while back and would only work in the 'open' direction. New switch fixed that problem. I think it was something like $65 from Sunset. Part Number is: 9936131200001C

You can also open up the switch and clean the contacts which worked for me for a while.

After testing the control rocker switch in the console check that the side seals you replaced do not cause additional friction do to tight fit that may cause a mechanical load causing the motor to not run or just stop part way. When I replaced the seals a while ago the front seal tightened up the clearance at the front to the opening to cause the motor to shut down before the roof panel fully seated. I rolled around the seal with a screwdriver shaft to roll the seal a little flatter. This seemed to solve the problem.

Good for you! There's still a little time left to enjoy that open air feeling...
