UPDATE: I decided to take it to Superior since I had work done there before and they match my paint perfect.

The door is to far gone, two independent shops told me. Superior found a donor door to swap in.

My question is: Are all doors of 95 - 98 993's the exact same door or is there any differences ?

Thanks

I hate seeing pics like this but things happen and almost anything can be fixed. Glad you took the right steps to fix the car, I'm sure it'll look and drive as new once it's fixed.

After a month, it's almost done. The new rocker panel that was ordered from germany was the wrong one. The dealer forgot I had the "S" model 993. I should get it back this week. Here is some pics the body shop sent me.

Looks like just assembly is left.

Did the body shop install a new rocker panel, or repair the damaged area? To me it looks as if they repaired the damage.

To my knowledge they installed a new rocker panel, and also the door is a used one. The rocker panel had to be shipped from Germany. The old one was bent all along the bottom.

I'm not trying to question you, rather, I'm wondering if they merely told you that to justify the amount of time they had your car.

I based my question on the fact that the primed area of the rocker panel/sill seems to match the area that was damaged.

Hmm i see what you're saying but i am no expert. 3 body shops told me the rocker panel was unfixable and had to be replaced.

I did ask for the old door, the old rocker panel and any other original parts to be returned to me and not thrown away. So we will see. Thanks for the insight.

This was the original estimate at first inspection by the nationwide you can download. Not the final one by the body shop. It may give some insight.

Hate seeing bad things happen to good people when the Uncle Jessies and Roscoe P. Coltranes of the world cross over.
