Default Rennfax in Salem, Oregon

I have a deposit on a 96 C4 cab at Coop's auto in Salem Oregon and would like someone to take a quick look before I drive up on Saturday. I have an 8 hour drive to get there.
The car has a salvage title but looks good in the add. She has had the same owner for the past 12 years but was sold as part of an estate.
Pics on there web site.

Damn, I was just in Salem on Monday. Best of luck, Tom. What are the odds that you would find another C4 Cab with the same color combo? Please keep us updated.

BTW: I still have your old steering wheel and airbag. If you decide you want to refit an airbag steering wheel, they're yours

Rennfax completed. This is a C2 but a pretty good car for the money. A salvage title but drove well. Bone stock except for the Momo wheel Needs some TLC but will make a good DD.

A big thanks to Stace and the entire Rennlist group. I am taking the trip in the morning and will post pics on Sunday. Almost a year without a Porsche.

Can't comment on the car, but the dealership leaves a very strange and sleazy feel just by looking through their web page. The ad for this 993 doesn't seem to mention it's salvaged, for example. The other cars there seem to be high mileage leftovers from cheap auctions.

A little research found thisL http://www.merchantcircle.com/busine...n.503-364-0755 with the second review sounding pretty relevant.

What I'm saying is that I'd be very, very careful. But my own opinion is that the seller is more important than the product, so this might be slightly skewed. Still, this smell more like a rescue than a purchase to me. BTW, I'd check that passenger airbag is still there, for example.

Mike,
Good heads up and I got the same feeling dealing with them on the phone. Didn't offer much info over the phone and had to dig for the info. Glad that Stace could look at her before making the flight.
They claim the car was purchased through an estate that was managed from Colorado. I am going on a little faith that the previous owner had it for14 years. Plus I like to do my own work and will get her back in shape.
I'm at the airport waiting for my flight, so we will see how it goes.

Yes! And very glad to be back. The great roads and green trees alone make it worthwhile - the huge Porsche community too!

T.J. Let me know if you need anything else.

This is a small dealer that knows nothing about Porsches. I bet they are about as good as the thousands of their peers who peddle cars on corners all across America.

TJ, good luck to you on this. One piece of advice - don't be bashful about walking away if things don't feel right. Or at least sleep on it. Hopefully things will work out, the price seems good.
