Lol...J, the funnel like all tools used, get cleaned up directly after use!

If you have it and it hasn't failed yet... Just wait, it will fail at the most inopportune time...
I had sold my street 993, the night before the PPI I was touching up the last little bits so it would be perfect for the new owner. Decided to bring the oil gauge up to exactly 50% mark... Managed to dump a half a quart of oil all over what was a pristine motor before I realized it was cracked....
It got everywhere...
Never again...

You guys kill me....Didn't you know that the disintegrating plastic filler neck was used by Porsche to prototype the disintegrating plastic water pump impeller that causes engine failure in their water-cooled engines?

I pulled my filler hose long ago, but I never found the bottom mounted strainer.

Use the freezer type (thicker) ziplok bag, few paper towels to absorb excess and stow funnel. It won't have enough oil to get beyond the paper towels, ziplok and infiltrate your car.

In the parts catalog, the tube is MG 1 SG 4, illustration 104-1 in my copy. Part number is 993 207 363 50 and is the only part number listed (e.g., not superseded in this version of the Katalog).

If you still have one in there, take it out.
There's no good thing about it.
It's guaranteed to cause you problems sooner or later.
You can save it or throw it away.
It serves no purpose other than to fill your oil lines and plug up oil flow in your engine.
Just use a funnel when you need to add oil.
