"it got hit from behind then slammed into the wall. The tow driver picked it up then the straps broke putting it on its side."

What a bad that that 993 has had.

All it wants is it's belly scratched a little, you'll see it will flip right over and race around in circles if you do this.

Was this image taken before or after the straps broke?



Do crane operators normally lift cars like this by running straps through the wheels ?

The article said it was wadded up on the track prior.

I think I see the problem... The crane driver obviously didn't account for the extra downforce from the rear wing and used straps that weren't adequate for the job... My guess is this photograph was taken about four seconds before they broke.

Also, look at the number on the side. 69 = any way up...

This reminds me of a now ex-Boston based VW/Audi tuner that tied down a 964 onto an elevated dynojet using the rear bumper support tubes (the 1/2" pieces on the side of the bumper that keep it from flexing...) during a PCA event at the direction of a well known Porsche mechanic from Randolph.
