My reason to own a 993 are a reflection on my previously owning 1986 Carrera.
Similar to my '86:
Classic shape,
Classic sound,
Extreme reliability,
Relatively inexpensive to maintain,
Engineering design concept.
Very high build quality.
Unlike my 1986:
Modern electrical system
Modern suspension
Power steering
AC that works,
Modern transmission - smoother shifting
Modern transmission linkage - More forgiving of shifting technique
Items I love after the fact:
Absolutely love the OBD system, outstanding, makes many diagnostic issues easy.

So i'm finally home after a long day! First 6h on train, then it was time to see the car! And it was absolutely fantastic! Looked almost brand new in many aspects, paint, interior, boot, engine bay etc. After a thorough inspection we went for a long testdrive. Everything felt great, engine, steering, clutch, brakes and handling so there wasn't much to think about. So i bought it! 
I just love how it feels and drives. The way that engine sounds is in my opinion one of best ever!
Only thing that needs taking care of is the AC which i could have had good use of today with 30 degrees and a 450 km long drive home! Some aluminium lines that need replacement according to the previous owner. Also the front and rear bonnet needs new "dampers".
When i got home my wife and my two Children waited up and we went for a drive around town. Amazingly the children fitted fine in the rear seat!
Better get some sleep now!
