Default Parts For Sale Ad Scam??

Last night there was a "Garage Cleaning" parts for sale post by user Alpinadvl complete with photographs which I cannot find again this morning. Anyone else see this post and was this post/thread pulled by Moderators?

I don't think it was a scam. I tried to buy the Techart ducts, but Alpinadvl told me that someone beat me to it. Don't know why it was pulled though. I was just looking for it too.

^^^ that was me, quick on the trigger.

Here's the link to the gallery of items for sale: https://www.icloud.com/photostream/#A4GY8gBYGviPGP

semi-pro-tip: I always save seller's galleries of images of items I've purchased online (ebay, here, Craigslist, or otherwise) the moment I've paid, before they can be deleted. This makes it easier to hold sellers accountable for descriptions of items they've sold to me. Also saves me from logging and keeping track of what I've bought.

I was also looking for the ad too, as I pulled the trigger on the front white indicators. After I sent payment to night, he edited the ad and listed the indicators as sold. I'm wondering why the post was pulled as well.

I put in for the airbox and emailed the seller but saw the post gone and have had no response. Will take my business elsewhere. These types of things makes one suspicious

I don't recall....do you have to be a paying member to sell stuff??? I think his profile was a user, not "Rennlist Member". Could that have been the issue?

has sporadic posts according to the stats. I always say if you are going to use the board and especially selling things then contribute like the rest of us

Lol, I thought this was just me...Only I save the text along with the images in case there is a dispute.
A great tip that should be followed by anyone buying stuff on-line.

Well, yeah. Probably this was the case. However, he's been around for 11 years and has contributed a decent amount. In addition to this, the prices he was selling some of the stuff at seemed to me like he was doing anyone interested in anything he had a favor ($1200 techart ducts for $250 anyone?). He could have gotten a lot more for some of the items, but seemed to be offering RL'ers the stuff at a loss. So yeah, he wasn't a paying member (anymore at least), so one of the self-appointed RL police probably reported the post to a mod.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I feel like the FS laws could stand a little amending. How about users must have at least 250 posts (and must maintain 50+ posts a year, not including FS ads) before being able to post a FS ad. I don't know, I'm spitballing here. I know it's only $17 or whatever, but some people just don't want to be members (where's Quad?).

So this guy has been on here for 11 years and literally has 30x the amount of posts you do and your calling him out for "sporadic posts" and not "contributing like the rest of us?" Surely you're kidding.

Gonzilla
do you work for nothing? do you own a business and work for no profit? If you can afford a Porsche then fork over $17 its the least you could do! Otherwise join the socialist Volvo forum

Dude, chill your rhetoric. You wouldn't know what "socialist" is if it hit you on the head.

no scam.... as it was done for benefit of friends of this community who have served everyone well... as some have stated, some of the parts were at heavy discounts... and... in addition, my intention was to discount things as time went out. not looking to make money off anyone - just trying to clean out some of my stuff so others can benefit.

that being said - all the pm's i received have been responded to. i am as honest as they come - and, in some cases, with people I know - I send things out even before payment - just so I don't over-charge for shipping.

i email the admin - hopefully it can go back up again soon.

^ I would say it was because of this.

Good luck with the sale. Glad to see you giving back to the rennlist community
